And one such celebrity dad, who loves his kids to the moon and back, is Amitabh Bachchan. As he plays the ideal fatherly role on the silver screen, his real life personality is no different.
Amitabh, the actor who made his name in Bollywood from scratch, had married Jaya Bachchan in 1973. Within a year of marital bliss, they embraced parenthood for the first time with the arrival of their daughter, Shweta Bachchan Nanda. And their family of three completed when Shweta got a sibling, Abhishek Bachchan, in 1976.

In a recent podcast of Shweta Bachchan’s daughter, Navya Naveli Nanda named What The Hell Navya, Jaya revealed that her hubby, Amitabh Bachchan was not an active parent until their elder daughter, Shweta, got married. Jaya stated that she was the one to take everyone’s responsibility in the house. In the podcast, as Navya said, “Nana is the most active member of the family chat,” Jaya quipped:
"Nana has become an active parent after your mother got married. Till then I was doing it alone, everything."
In the same podcast, Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter, Navya, said that maybe nana was too busy during the growing up days of his kids, Shweta and Abhishek, and realised it after his daughter’s marriage. Navya added that her nana has been trying to spend more time with them because he doesn’t want to miss out on good things again. In her words:
"Maybe because he feels he missed out on so much when they were growing up. Now he is doing those things with us."

Further in the podcast, Navya revealed that she is the most talkative person in the Bachchan family. She mentioned how people call her ‘Reporter Raju’ because she overshares at moments. In her words:
"I'm always sharing. My name in the family is 'Reporter Raju' because I keep sharing info from one family member. I just share freely whatever comes to mind."
