Zubeen Garg's Childhood Friend Reveals He Has Tree House In Assam And Studio On Mountain Top

The tragic demise of singer and composer, Zubeen Garg has left the entire music industry in shock. The singer left for the heavenly abode on September 19, 2025. Since his sudden tragic death, many actors and singers have paid heartfelt tributes. Among those is music composer, Jeet Gannguli, who shared some of his memories with Zubeen Garg.

Recently, Jeet Gannguli sat down for a candid interview with NDTV, in which he mourned over the death of Zubeen Garg. Jeet shared that Zubeen was his childhood friend and the two had worked on more than 60 Bengali songs together. He also added that Zubeen was not just a singer, he was an emotion. Jeet was quoted as saying:

"It's a great loss for all of us, the film industry, and the music industry. We have lost a great singer, Zubeen Garg. He was my childhood friend. We have worked on 50-60 Bengali songs together, and all of them are chartbusters. He was not just a singer for me. He's an emotion."

Jeet continued to add that Zubeen Garg was a very happy person, who lived a lavish life. He shared that the late singer had a treehouse in Assam and he used to invite Jeet and his wife several times. Zubeen has also built a studio on the mountains. In his words:

"He lived life kingsize. He has a tree house in Assam. He invited me and my wife several times to visit the place. He has recently built a studio on top of a mountain. He asked me to visit that too. During recordings, we always used to crack jokes. He was a happy person."

Zubeen Garg’s sudden death

Zubeen Garg died after a scuba-diving accident in Singapore on September 19, 2025. He was in the city to perform at the North East India Festival, when he tragically passed away. According to the festival organisers, Zubeen faced breathing difficulties underwater. A representative of the festival, Anuj Kumar Boruah told NDTV:

"It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Zubeen Garg's passing. While scuba diving, he experienced breathing difficulties and was immediately given CPR before being rushed to Singapore General Hospital. Despite efforts to save him, he was declared deceased in the ICU around 2:30 PM IST."

Jeet Gannguli shared an Instagram post for Zubeen Garg

Apart from sharing fun memories with Zubeen, composer, Jeet Gannguli also took to his Instagram handle to share a picture of him with Zubeen. Along with the image, he penned an emotional message, in which he expressed his shock and sadness of losing a close friend. His caption can be read as:

"Zubeen, I still can’t believe you’ve left us…We shared so many memories, so much music, so much laughter. Losing you feels so so unreal, my friend. Why did you have to leave so early?"
