Life-Size Dummy Of Jeff Bezos Thrown Into Canal By Protestor Ahead Of Wedding With Lauren Sanchez

The third wealthiest man, Jeff Bezos, also known as Jeffrey Preston Bezos, is an American businessman best known as the founder, executive chairman, and former president and CEO of Amazon, considered the largest e-commerce website. He is all set to get married for the second time to Lauren Sanchez at the age of 61. However, his three-day grand wedding celebration in Venice led to widespread protests. 

Protestors dumped a dummy of the Amazon founder into the Venice Canal

For those who don't know, Jeff and Lauren have planned a grand Venetian wedding as they are planning to host a three-day celebration in the Italian city. However, locals are not happy as they voiced their opinion by throwing the billionaire's life-size dummy of the Amazon founder into the Venice canal, and videos of the same have been going viral.

In a viral video, a life-size mannequin of Jeff was thrown into the canal. He was wearing a blue-hued Amazon worker's jumpsuit and was latched onto a large Amazon box while holding cash. It was floating beside the gondolas. The protest was organised by Borne Media, using a motorised raft. 

The protests were organised against the billionaire for his wedding party. It is reported that almost a dozen Venezuelan organisations, including housing advocates, university groups and anti-cruise ship campaigners, are protesting against Bezos. The 'no space for Bezos' protest depicts how the locals feel about the billionaire's wedding. However, Mayor Luigi Brugnaro has dismissed all such protests, stating that the city is proud to host the couple.

Jeff Bezos' wedding invite is being called the 'ugliest' 

Following a huge protest, internet users discovered the wedding invitation of Jeff Bezos, which is being called ugly and atrocious. The invite shared by ABC News asked the guests to forgo gifts for the couple, and it featured a collage of butterflies, feathers, birds and shooting stars. It is set up against a white background. Further, the message by the couple revealed that they would be making a charitable contribution on behalf of the guest to UNESCO's Venice office and the Consortium for Coordination of Research Activities to preserve the city's heritage.

Jeff Bezos has been planning to host a three-day event, which would cost him around US Dollar 46 million to US Dollar 56 million. It will feature 90 private jets, responsible for transporting famous personalities from the entertainment, political, and financial sectors to Venice for the grand event. According to reports, the wedding festivities have already begun with an open-air gathering to be held in the cloisters of Madonna dell'Orto, a medieval church in Venice. It will be marked by the presence of Kim Kardashian, Ivanka Trump, Orlando Bloom, Diane von Furstenberg, and Tom Brady.

Venice has been transformed into a 'fortress-like operation' as per a report by People. It includes 20 security personnel around Chiesa della Madonna dell'Orto, which is one of the key venues of the celebration. A grand wedding party will be hosted on June 28, 2025, at the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, which is a medieval former religious school.
