Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon and one of the richest persons on earth is once again in the headlines. However, this time, it's not for any major business deal or prestige project but for his upcoming wedding with American TV and reporter, Lauren Sánchez. For those unaware, the couple got engaged in 2023 after Jeff proposed to Lauren in a 500 million USD superyacht near Cannes. Since then, the couple have been planning for their upcoming wedding which includes the preparation for an ironclad prenup to secure Jeff's 220 billion USD fortune. Here's how the business mogul is planning to ensure that he irons out all the legal matters before walking down the aisle for the second time.
According to a new report by Mail Online, Jeff Bezos could marry Lauren Sánchez at the earliest. Still, he is taking time as his big legal team is busy preparing a strong prenuptial agreement to secure his large 220 billion USD fortune. This new update has made fans and media curious to know if Jeff's past is the reason behind his new decision.
For those unaware, Jeff was earlier married to McKenzie, and they share four children. The duo had an expensive divorce, which took a major chunk of his wealth. Consequently, several media reports claim that the businessman won't take any chances for the second time and the prenup for his vast wealth would be more complex than a regular one.
Recently, Hello! reached out to Alphonse Provinziano, a Certified Family Law Attorney, who explained that the agreement could include a list of Jeff's present assets, properties, holding investments, etc, and label them as separate entities. So, even if Lauren Sanchez goes on to contribute towards the growth of any of Jeff's business ventures, he won't lose its ownership in case of a separation. However, it could be difficult to draft as the businessman would have to disclose all his finances and assets. In his words:
"It is a lengthy process that would usually involve teams of attorneys for both sides. In fact, Mr. Bezos would most likely have to pay for Ms. Sanchez's attorneys, who would, even though he's paying them, owe their complete loyalty to Ms. Sanchez, and oftentimes, what would happen is that extensive negotiations would go back and forth in order to have the parties have a prenup that they both can agree with."
Another expert, Dain Dreyer, partner at Dreyer & Mazaheri PLLC, revealed to HELLO! that Jeff's prenup could take months to prepare. He explained that due to the humongous fortune of the Amazon founder, he might consult a team of expensive attorneys and financial advisors, not just from the U.S. but from around the world, where he owns any major asset. He explained:

"A high-net-worth prenup can take several months to finalize. It involves the valuation of assets, disclosure obligations, legal negotiations, and careful drafting. Transparency and fairness are key... especially to ensure enforceability down the road."
Jeff Bezos is more likely to be careful about his prenup before he had one of the most expensive divorces in human hi4story. The businessman had earlier married Mckenzie in 1993 and they shared four children. But the duo parted ways after 25 years of togetherness and since he tied the knot when Amazon was just an online book retailer, there was no prenup. As a result, he had a complicated divorce, and his ex-wife, who stood by him while he worked on Amazon's success, got a four percent stake in the company. It made her one of the richest women in human history and Forbes reported that she has a net worth of 165.3 billion USD.
