Jeff Garcia Dies At 50, All About The Voice Actor Of 'Jimmy Neutron', Health Issues, Family And More

Jeffrey 'Jeff' Garcia's voice defined a generation of children who were glued to the screens, watching the 2001 film, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. Jeff made the character of 'Sheen Estevez' come alive by lending his voice to the 'Ulta Lord' obsessed best friend of 'Jimmy Neutron'. The character became so well-loved that a spin-off, Planet Sheen was made. As a result, Jeff's untimely death at 55 has been met with a lot of shock. Here's everything to know about him. 

Jeff Garcia's cause of death and past health issues 

Jeff Garcia was reportedly battling a series of health-related complications for the past few months. He had also been recently hospitalised. Jeff was reportedly discharged and was doing better. However, a sudden deterioration in his health led to him being admitted into the hospital again. Jeff was having breathing issues when he passed away from a lung collapse. 

Jeff's string of health scares started early this year, in 2025. He reportedly suffered a brain aneurysm. This led to a fall and a head injury. Jeff recovered from this, but wasn't completely fine. As per the Daily Mail, the voice actor then had a stroke. This was followed by a bout of pneumonia in November 2025. After all these health complications and subsequent hospitalisations, Jeff would return home. However, his breathing issues had proven to be quite serious during his final days. Jeff was on life support as a last-ditch attempt. However, with no chances of recovery, his family decided to take him off life support. 

Jeff Garcia's family life: Survived by ex-wife and children

Jeff Garcia is survived by his ex-wife, Lisa, and their two children, Savannah and Joseph 'Jojo' Garcia. The late voice actor and his ex-wife were married from 2002 to 2013. As per reports, Jeff passed away while being surrounded by his family. In fact, it was his son, Jojo, who shared the heartbreaking news of his father's passing away. Taking to his social media, Jojo Garcia penned:

“With a very heavy heart, I would like to inform everybody that my father, Jeff Garcia, has passed away. My father was a unique soul. He was unapologetically himself and I will always admire the love, compassion, and drive that he had. He taught me so much and gave me advice that I live by every single day. He was a Father, Son, Uncle, Cousin, Brother, but most of all, he was my best friend.”

Following in his father's footsteps, Jojo is also a comedian. His Instagram post announcing the demise of Jeff has been filled with condolence messages. Debi Derryberry and Ron Paulsen, who were Jeff's co-stars in Jimmy Neutron , also expressed their sadness over the sad demise. 

Jeff Garcia's legacy as 'Sheen Estevez' in Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and 'Pip' in Barnyard

Jeff was a well-known comedian. However, the way his voice for various iconic animated movies lit up many childhoods has made him irreplaceable. Jeff brought the character 'Sheen' to life in all the Jimmy Neutron movies. Many also remember him for the voice acting of 'Pip' in Banyard, the wittiest mouse in the movie. His son, Jojo, also remarked on his father's illustrious career and shared:

"The talent my father possessed was truly one of a kind. From voice acting to stand up comedy, he shined with his quick wit, brash humor, and charm. He has made such an impact on people’s lives internationally, whether you grew up watching Jimmy Neutron, or shared a laugh with him at one of his shows. He was my hero… I idolized him. He may be gone, but he will NEVER be forgotten."
