Amid gossip about Wednesday being around, buzz circulated that Jenna might have gone under the knife to have buccal fat surgery, which made her look simply different. Now, we stumbled upon an old interview of the actress, when she talked about her perspective on beauty standards.

It was back in 2023 when Jenna sat for an interview with Vogue, wherein she revealed that she had a pretty hard childhood, since she felt that she would have to be what she felt people wanted her to be. She identified as a 'people pleaser' and mentioned that traditional beauty standards had affected her, leaving her desperate to be what others expected. Jenna could be quoted as saying:

"I kind of had a hard time growing up because I was such a people pleaser; I was so desperate to be whatever I felt people wanted me to be. And I felt like the traditional beauty standards really affected me; they didn’t always resonate with me."

In the same interview, Jeena Ortega was asked about her changed look for the series, Wednesday, the piggy-tails, bangs and more. To this, she said that it's all about embracing. The actress said that there was a time when she used to do heavy makeup to hide her freckles, but she eventually learnt that beauty lies in enhancing the natural features rather than trying to cover them up. Stating that she eventually realised that less is more, Jenna shared:

"But I’ve definitely learned that beauty is more about enhancing your natural features rather than trying to cover them up. I’ve realized that less is more."
