The popular television actress, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwala has worked in a series of television shows, but she is best known for playing the character of ‘Mrs. Roshan Sodhi’ in the famous sitcom, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. However, in her recent interview with a leading news portal, the actress revealed that she had quit the show once and for all. The shocking announcement of her departure from the show has left her massive fanbase heartbroken. However, the reason behind it is even more painful and has shocked the entire television industry.
In an interview with ETimes, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwala revealed that she had left the show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, despite being a part of the show for almost 15 years. When the actress was asked to reveal the reason behind her big decision, she uncovered a heartbreaking truth about the people working behind the screen. Jennifer accused the show’s producer, Asit Kumarr Modi of sexually harassing her. The actress revealed that Asit made sexual advances towards her, due to which she filed a police complaint against him. She said:
"I was asked to get off the sets four times by Sohail Ramani and Jatin Bajaj tried to stop my car by standing behind it and was not allowing to me to leave the sets. I told them that I worked on the show for 15 years, and they couldn't forcefully stop me, and while I was leaving Sohail threatened me. I have filed a case of sexual harassment against Asit Kumarr Modi, Sohail Ramani and Jatin Bajaj."

However, not only this, but Jennifer Mistry Bansiwala also named two more people in her police complaint. While the first person is the show’s project head, Sohail Ramani, and the second is the executive producer, Jatin Bajaj. Jennifer also revealed that she worked on the sets of the show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, for the last time on March 6, 2023, and since then, she hasn’t gone to visit the show's sets.
Further, in the same interview, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwala also revealed that working on the sets of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah wasn’t a fun ride for her, as she termed it as a male-chauvinistic place to work in. The actress termed the producers and people behind the scenes as arrogant and shared how she was denied a two-hour break on Holi. Not only this, Jennifer also revealed that the show’s project head, Sohail Ramani also once spoke to her so badly and told her to ‘get out’ four times. The actress admitted that she was adamant about leaving the sets, but it was Jatin Bajaj, who blocked his car. Recalling the same incident, she said:
"When I retaliated, Sohail spoke rudely to me and asked me to get out almost four times. Then the creative person, Jatin tried to stop my car. All this is recorded in the CCTV footage."

In the same interview, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwala admitted that this was not the first time when the show’s producer, Asit Kumarr Modi, sexually harassed her. The actress revealed that it has happened in the past a couple of times, but she ignored all of them because she didn’t want to lose work. However, Jennifer added that things had gone out of line this time as all three of them tried to stop her from leaving the sets by closing the door. As a result, the actress has taken strict action against Asit Modi, Sohail Ramani and Jatin Bajaj by sending a registry to all the government authorities.
