Jitendra Kumar has been winning hearts with his portrayal as 'Abhishek Tripathi', also known as 'Sachiv Ji' in Panchayat 4. The season centred on the panchayat elections in Phulera. The season also showcases 'Sachiv' and Rinki's romantic development with each other. Earlier, real-life 'Rinki', Sanvikaa revealed that a kissing scene was deleted from this season. The actress's statement was blown out of proportion. Now, Jitendra reacted to the same and talked about the deleted kissing scene from the series.
According to a report by the Free Press Journal, Jitendra Kumar stated that Sanvikaa's comment was blown out of proportion. Jitendra added that when the scene was proposed to him, he asked the makers to consult with Sanvikaa first and obtain her permission. Jitendra mentioned that Sanvikaa's consent was needed for the scene, as the makers wanted to make it awkwardly funny. Initially, the plan was for the light to go off during the kissing scene, but it was shot differently. Jitendra could be quoted as saying:
"I think Sanvikaa’s comment was taken out of context. When the scene was proposed, I told the makers to ask her first. Her consent was essential. We wanted to make the scene awkwardly funny -- like they’re about to kiss, and the light goes off. But eventually, it was shot differently."
Going forward in the interview, Jitendra Kumar revealed that he has no issues with kissing someone on-screen. He also shared that he had already done some kind of scene with the actresses and even Ayushmann Khurrana. The actor mentioned that as an actor, he has no reservation about kissing someone, if it serves the story, for that matter. Stating that the scene should make a connection with the audience, Jitendra shared:
"I kissed Ayushmann Khurrana in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. I’ve kissed actresses on screen before. As an actor, I don’t have reservations about it. But whether it’s a kiss or any other scene, it has to serve the story. Kahani mein mazaa aana chahiye, audience se connect karna chahiye."
Earlier, in an interview after the release of Panchayat 4, Sanvikaa shared that she was sceptical about the kissing scene when it was proposed to her. She shared that when the narration was done, no one had told her anything about the scene. The actress shared that later the director told her about the scene, and she took two days to think about it. However, the actress was a bit sceptical about the kissing scene, and she was worried about how Jitendra was going to react. Sharing how the scene was replaced with a tank scene, Sanvikaa said:
"I was worried about how he would react, and I was also not comfortable. So I refused at that time. But when we were shooting, they removed that scene, but they inserted the tank scene."
For the unversed, Panchayat 4 ended with Jitendra clearing 97 per cent in CAT. The lead was also caught up in the emotional conflict between his personal success and the grief of the thought of leaving Phulera behind. The cliffhanger moment was there in the end with 'Kranti Devi's win in the election. However, with the ending of the series, people were convinced that there would be a season five. Meanwhile, Sanvikaa already clarified that there is going to be a season 5 of the series. She said that they are likely to begin shooting for the next season towards the end of 2025. She further mentioned that the writing has begun, and once it's completed, the shooting will commence.
