Simone Biles And Jonathan Owens' Relationship Timeline, Met On A Dating App To Getting Married Twice

Jonathan Owens is a known and popular name in the world of football. With his agility, dedication and passion towards the sport, Jonathan has managed to create a name for himself. He has also impressed fans with his NFL journey, which started with playing for Green Bay Packers and now for Chicago Bears. 

But apart from Jonathan Owens' gameplay, it is his relationship with Olympic gymnastics superstar, Simone Biles that has grabbed the most attention. For those who don't know, Simone is one of the most popular female gymnasts, who is well known for her record-breaking achievements. Jonathan Owens and Simone Biles’ first meeting

Although, Jonathan and Simone crossed paths in December 2019, during a Houston Texans game, the duo officially met through a dating app, Raya in 2020. According to PEOPLE, Simone made the first move of texting Jonathan after noticing that he lives nearby. Soon, their initial chats led to meeting, and since the duo met during the pandemic, they were able to spend a lot of time together as everything else was shut down. Within a month, the NFL player realised that he had fallen for the gymnast. 

In August 2020, Simone Biles made her relationship with Jonathan Owens Instagram public, as she posted two cutesy photos, in which the NFL star was kissing her neck. She captioned the photos as, "Just us". Later, Owens also shared photos of him and Simone on his Instagram handle, with the caption, "Now you rockin with a real one." After this, their cutesy PDA never stopped. In November, Jonathan posted a photo of Simone sitting on his lap and kissing the player.

For a couple of months, after going public on Instagram, Jonathan and Simone lived some of their best days together, including Christmas, the gymnast's birthday, Valentines and more. In December 2020, the couple shared a carousel of photos on their social media, in which they were celebrating Christmas in matching outfits. Later, during an interview with Today in January 2021, Simone opened up about the football player and shared:

"He's a real man... I just, I love him. We have a great time together. Our personalities match right up. We have the same sense of humor. And he's just great. He's an athlete, too, so we really understand each other and I think that's why our relationship has been seamless."

Later, Jonathan and Simone celebrated Valentine’s Day in the most beautiful manner. The Olympian has shared photos of the celebration, which included the duo standing in front of giant letters that spelled 'Love'. Apart from that the room was also decorated with coordinating balloons and rose petals spread across the floor. In March 2021, the NFL player wished Simone on her birthday. In his birthday wish, he also shared his excitement of spending his future with the gymnast. 

Throughout 2021, Jonathan and Simone continued to support each other and create milestones in their relationship. In 2021, Simone was spotted multiple times cheering for her man during his football matches. She also penned a sweet and special note for him on his birthday in July. In August 2021, the duo shared glimpses of the celebration from their first anniversary.

A day after celebrating their cutesy Valentine's Day, on February 15, 2022, Jonathan proposed to Simone. The Olympian had shared photos from the proposal, which showed the player on his knees. Along with the photos, Simone admitted that she said the 'easiest yes' of her life on that day. Over the months, the duo planned their wedding and went on vacations. In July 2022, Simone was awarded with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Months later, the bride-to-be shared glimpses from her dress-fitting and in April 2023, the couple obtained their marriage license. 

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens tied the knot

On April 22, 2023, Jonathan and Simone tied the knot during an intimate courthouse wedding in Texas. Soon after that, they left for Mexico, where they got married for the second time. On May 6, 2023, the couple tied the knot again during a luxurious ceremony in Cabo San Lucas. The event featured lush florals, champagne, and gold and white decor.

After their marriage, both Jonathan and Simone became each other’s biggest support systems. They were often seen cheering for each other’s career and achievements. In March 2024, Jonathan signed a contract with Chicago Bears and in April, the couple celebrated their first anniversary. Later, Jonathan penned a heartfelt note for his wife, in which he shared that he was proud of her for continuing to compete in the Paris Olympics after suffering a calf injury.
