Jr NTR Reveals Why He Doesn't Want To Burden His Sons With Nandamuri's Legacy, 'History Is Not Good'

The Nandamuri family has a rich legacy of actors spanning three generations, including Jr. NTR, his father, Harikrishna, uncle, Balakrishna, brother, Kalyanram, and cousin, Mokshagna Teja have all followed in the footsteps of their grandfather, NTR (Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao), continuing the family tradition. However, the actor, Jr NTR stated in a recent interview with the Associated Press that he would prefer to give his kids the option to choose not to continue the family tradition.

Jr. NTR emphasises that he chose to act without any pressure

Jr. NTR stated that, contrary to popular belief, he was never coerced into acting and it was his decision to be an actor. The actor made his feature film debut in 2001 with Ninnu Choodalani, having previously acted as a child artist in the films, Brahmarshi Viswamitra and Ramayanam in the early 1990s. He said that instead of 'restricting' him to act, his father allowed him a 'fair chance' to try out different activities.

"Too much of history is not good for kids. I want to be an example to them to have a journey of their own. I want to give them an opportunity to explore, rather than rubbing it on them. They need to decide for themselves.”

Jr NTR did concede, though, that his sons’ current aspirations are to be performers, among other things, because that is the "environment they have grown up in."
