Junaid Khan is known for his reserved nature and immaculate performance on-screen. The actor debuted with the Netflix special film, Maharaj in 2024 and has since captivated the heart of the audience. The actor is also among the few new-age celebrities who have maintained his distance from social media. However, it seems like netizens wish the actor were on social media so they could share their opinion on the actor's statement on his star kid 'privileges'.
Junaid Khan recently sat for a conversation with the Humans Of Bombay to promote his upcoming film, Loveyapa, which stars Khushi Kapoor. However, it seems like the actor's statement during the interview has created a hot siyapa for the actor. During the conversation, Junaid was asked about his perspective on nepotism, and since both he and Khushi Kapoor come from the same lineage.
For the unversed, Khushi is Boney Kapoor and late actress, Sridevi's daughter, and Junaid himself is the son of Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta. Responding to the interviewer, Junaid was quoted saying:
"I think I am extremely privileged. I am the first-born son of a loved, rich and powerful man. I am ticking all the privilege boxes, so yeah. It's not something for me to use or not use. It exists around me, and it's the way people are around me, and I get immense benefit from it. I mean, I can, as an actor today, afford not to be on social media; I don't think other actors can do that."
In the same conversation, when Junaid Khan was asked why he thought other actors couldn't afford to not be on social media while he could. The actor responded that it was because of the exposure social media brought to artists. He further added the entertainment industry already knew who he was, and producers were confident enough that when a film was released, his name alone would be able to grab the attention of the audience. He was quoted saying:
"I think the exposure that it brings you. I mean, you would otherwise need that (being an outsider). I don't need that because the whole industry knows who I am, and producers are very confident that when a film comes with me in it, it'll get those eyeballs simply because I'm in it. So yeah, I can afford not to be on social media."
Once the video reached the discussion platform, Reddit netizens took to the comment section to share their opinions. A user wrote, "It's refreshingly arrogant to me. First nepo child that owns his neponess without apologizing, downplaying or hiding it. Interesting" Another Redditor penned, "Bro lives in delulu world." Another user stated, "Woww....the entitlement. This is what nepotism looks like!" A user in a long post called out his PR team and stated:

"This is the real him. This guy’s PR was really pushing the “omg, he’s so simple, down to earth, and he walks by foot to places and takes rickshaws”. However, in this clip, you can see the arrogance, entitlement, de lulu-ness and inflated nepo kid ego. At this point, he’s doing better acting offscreen."
