Jwala Gutta, who is country’s top-ranked doubles specialist in Badminton, has also been a victim of misogyny and a target of objectifying eyes. Addressing the sexist standards that plague our society and her social media handles, Jwala had once revealed how she deals with perverse derogatory comments and body-shaming. In an interview with Sportskeeda, Jwala had said, “They (trolls) fail to realise is that we are also normal human beings who want to look good. That doesn’t mean you add labels or prefixes to our name. We also have families, who might find such comments absolutely deplorable, just like theirs.” She had continued, “If I look a certain way, it doesn’t mean I’m ‘fast’ or ‘active’, which are milder comments among the lot. It’s just a personal choice. So how does that make me ‘easy to get’, and all the other prefixes that are being attached?” (Also Read: 'Dance Plus' Judge, Punit J Pathak Gets Married With Nidhi Moony Singh In An Intimate Ceremony)
