Jyoti Nooran is the granddaughter of the famous Punjabi-Sufi singer, Bibi Nooran. Born into a musically blessed family, singing comes naturally to her. While other kids recite nursery rhymes, Jyoti Nooran used to sing verses from famous Sufi singers without even realising it. Jyoti and her sister, Sultana, have not been to school due to poverty, but they got a precious education in music that transformed the girls into nightingales of India. They are known as the famous 'Nooran sisters', courtesy of their father, Gulshan Meer, who noticed their talent.
Jyoti Nooran's life has been an inspiring journey. From singing in mela and dargahs to her songs like Paon Ki Jutti crossing millions on YouTube, she has come a long way. Just like her amazing career, her personal life is also filled with a lot of highs and lows. At a young age, she got married to Kunal Passi without her family's permission. There came a time when Jyoti's relationship with her husband, Kunal, turned sour. Currently, they are fighting a legal battle, and often indulge in ugly public spats.

Jyoti, who was raised with a lot of protection by her Muslim parents, fell in love with a Hindu boy, Kunal Passi, at a tender age. After feeling the brush of first love, Jyoti saw the world with her lover's eyes. However, the biggest roadblock in Jyoti's love story was her family, especially her father, who didn't accept him as his son-in-law. It was in 2014 that Jyoti eloped with Kunal.

Jyoti Nooran faced a lot of threats after her marriage to Kunal Passi. She got married on August 2, 2014, in a temple in Chandigarh. After her marriage, she turned Hindu. However, her parents didn't accept her marriage, and they even lodged an FIR against her husband, Kunal, on false claims. But Jyoti proved that she was 20 years old when she married Kunal. Seeing the situation getting worse, she took the legal route and got a court order to validate her marriage. Just like her songs, Jyoti roared in court for the love of her life. And after three months of marriage, her parents accepted their union.

It is said that in true love, there are no compromises, just a change of habits for a better life together. Talking about Jyoti, she not only converted to Hinduism but also became a vegetarian for Kunal. It was after marrying Kunal that Jyoti's career took wings, and he started managing her.
After eight years of happily living together, Jyoti and Kunal's marriage hit a rough patch. Things turned sour, and Jyoti even filed for a divorce in August 2022. She even allegedly stated that she was in an abusive marriage, and her husband would often harass her and hit her due to drug addiction. Not only this, Jyoti revealed that he would keep the money from her programs and shows. She even claimed that her life was in danger.
After a lot of allegations, a public spat with her own family, and an ugly divorce battle with Kunal Passi, Jyoti Nooran found true love. She often shares pictures with a mystery man. According to murmurs, she stays with him, and his name is Usmaan Noor. However, Jyoti never talked about him in any interview, but she often expresses her love for him in her Instagram posts.
Jyoti Nooran started her singing career in Punjab. She would sing with her sister in mosques and fares. However, they rose to fame with their song, Tung Tung. Her powerful song, Allah Ho, on the Coke Studio broke more records. She is also the voice behind Patakha Guddi. Recently, her song, Paon Ki Jutti, featuring Isha Malviya, has been loved by many.
