Former Indian actress, Jyotii Sethi, has made her acting debut with the Telugu film, Where is Vidya Balan. Later in 2017, she also made her Bollywood debut with the film, Phullu, where her acting was highly praised by critics. However, she left acting and started making YouTube videos in 2018. Earlier in 2020, in one of her YouTube videos, Jyotii shared that she had left acting because she was no longer enjoying the profession, and also mentioned that her mental health was her utmost priority. Now, a while ago, she shared a heartwrenching note, where she revealed a shocking update about her health and how a serious lifestyle change has improved both her physical and mental health.
Taking to her Instagram handle, Jyotii penned down a heartfelt note revealing her silent battle with endometriosis for the past 7 years. Jyotii shared that the chronic condition had brought unbearable pain to her, which she had to go through for approximately 20 days each month. She shared how in these years, she has put on weight and chased work to build a career without prioritising herself. Addressing her personal battle, she wrote:
"Hi, I want to share something with you all today. For the last more than 7 years, I’ve been on YouTube, consistently creating content. And as many of you know that during this entire time, I was fighting endometriosis. At least 20 days every month, I would be in unbearable pain. Along with that I kept gaining weight and in the middle of chasing work, building a career, I completely forgot to take care of myself. My health, my mental peace, my happiness everyone everything to back seat."
Moving forward in her note, Jyotii shared how last year she made a decision in order to fix everything that troubled her. She mentioned that she puts in efforts and has brought a significant change in her lifestyle. Jyotii explained how the routine change made her lose weight and also shared that in the past one year, she hadn’t gone through the unbearable pain due to the endometriosis. Addressing her transition days, Jyotii wrote:
"Last year, I realised that if I really wanted to heal, it wasn't going to happen unless I made serious lifestyle changes. And so, I started focusing on myself - my food, my mindset, my routine, my peace. It wasn't easy. After a year of dedication, I lost around 14 kilos and, more importantly, for the first time in 6 years, my reports came clear of endometriosis. I still have adenomyosis and fibroids. But I can finally say- I haven't had a single episode of that unbearable pain in over a year."
In the note, Jyotii also shared how she had been prioritising work, views, numbers, and money in the past few years. It was her lifestyle change journey that made her realise the mistakes she had made earlier. Jyotii mentioned that, standing in the present time, she wants to focus on herself and simply live. She also shared how she has been travelling without security in recent times and regained her lost confidence as well.
Addressing her consistency on the YouTube platform, Jyotii shared her doubt and said maybe she might pursue this career as well, but now that thought doesn’t scare her. She also remembered her mother’s advice to stand up for herself whenever needed. She expressed her confidence to start over again, hinting at a seemingly different profession that aligns well with her mental health. In the heartfelt note, Jyotii also questioned her audience about what the point of having a career is if one cannot have happiness in it. Addressing the same, Jyotii wrote:

"I don't know how much I’ll be consistent with YouTube. Maybe I’ll post more, maybe less, maybe different things. I might lose this career, and honestly that doesn't scare me anymore. Because what's the point of having a career if you don't have your health and happiness? I know I am capable of starting over anytime. I’ve the strength my mother gave me - to stand on my own two feet, no matter what."
Jyotii concluded her emotional note with a heartfelt message to her followers. She wrote in the concluding lines that this will be her first time in these years, where she is choosing herself. She asks her fans for their understanding and promises to share her journey in whatever way possible. Jyotii also thanked her followers and hoped they would be supportive of her during this phase.
