Kabir Bedi's Four Marriages, Fling With Parveen Babi, Current Wife Is Younger Than His Daughter

One of the most prolific actors of his time, Kabir Bedi is a well-known name in the glamour world. Kabir began his career in Indian theatre and then moved to Hindi films. He is the first Indian actor to make a name for himself in Hollywood and become a star in Europe. Throughout his career, Kabir has appeared in many films and is still hailed for his negative character in the film, Khoon Bhari Maang.

Apart from his professional life, Kabir has always garnered the spotlight for his personal life. The actor had three failed marriages and got married for the fourth time to British-born Parveen Dusanj, who was 30 years younger than him. Kabir Bedi’s open marriage with Protima Gupta

In 1969, Kabir married model and Odissi dancer, Protima Gupta. When the duo met, she was already a star, and Kabir fell madly in love with her. Since her parents were against their relationship, the duo eloped and got married. Kabir and Protima were blessed with two kids, Pooja Bedi and Siddharth Bedi.

Their relationship was rocky, but the couple wanted to make it work regardless, because of their kids. That was also when they decided to opt for an open marriage. However, they eventually got divorced in 1977.

Kabir and Protima led an unhappy marriage, and it was during the same time that he was falling for actress Parveen Babi. Since Kabir and Protima lacked sexual attraction towards each other, Protima encouraged Kabir to have an affair with Parveen. It was Protima’s guilt for indulging in infidelity that encouraged Kabir to make advances towards Praveen.

Tables turned for Protima when Kabir turned serious for Parveen and left Protima and their kids. Protima was shattered and decided to part ways with him. On the other hand, despite being madly in love with Kabir, Parveen realised she is a second fiddle to Kabir. Work commitments and the long distance between Kabir and Parveen became the reason for their breakup.

Kabir Bedi’s second marriage was to a British-born fashion designer 

Kabir gave love another chance when he met a British-born fashion designer, Susan Humphreys, in 1980, soon after his divorce from his wife Protima and breakup with Praveen. Kabir met Susan when he was in the US for a modelling assignment. There is hardly any information about how they met and fell in love. Kabir and Susan got married and were blessed with a son, Adam Bedi, in 1981, who works as a model. The couple separated in the late 1980s, and their marriage ended in divorce in 1990.

Kabir Bedi’s third marriage to 20 years younger BBC radio presenter, Nikki Moolgaoker

After his divorce from Susan Humphreys, Kabir met famous BBC radio presenter, Nikki Moolgaoker in London in 1991. Nikki was 20 years younger than Kabir, but age never mattered to them, and soon, the duo got married. Nikki and Kabir couldn’t manage their long-distance marriage and got divorced on an amicable note in 2005.

After his divorce from Nikki, Kabir met London-based Indian social researcher Parveen Dusanj. Despite the age gap of almost 30 years, they fell in love with one another. But unlike his other marriages, Kabir’s daughter, Pooja, was against his relationship with Parveen. On the other hand, Kabir and Parveen made public appearances together and talked about being in a live-in relationship.

Kabir Bedi and Parveen Dusanj’s relationship gained a lot of limelight because of Pooja’s hatred towards the latter. For the unversed, Parveen is five years younger than Kabir’s daughter, Pooja. While Pooja loved and respected her father, she disapproved of his love interest. But despite Pooja’s disapproval of her father’s love life, Kabir and Parveen took their relationship to the next level, and he proposed marriage to Parveen in Rome.

On Kabir’s 70th birthday, the duo got married and as expected, Pooja skipped the celebrations for obvious reasons, but she tweeted her feelings on Twitter about her father’s new bride. Her tweet can be read as:

“Every fairy tale has a wicked witch or an evil step mother! Mine just arrived! @KabirBedi just married @parveendusanj."

Despite his three failed marriages, Kabir never fell out of love. He ultimately married his soulmate Parveen and began his forever journey.
