Legendary veteran actor, Govardhan Asrani, also known as Asrani, took his last breath on October 20, 2025. The news of his demise left the entire nation in shock. Asrani passed away at the age of 84 after a long illness. Now, Asrani had a long-lasting friendship with the late actor, Kader Khan. Both were known for their cinema from the 1970s to 1990s. Now, amid this, Asrani's old post of remembering his friend, Kader, has surfaced on social media.
Asrani had remembered Kader back on October 12, 2025, and exactly a week after that, Asrani passed away. Asrani had shared a video where Kader was speaking of friendship, in which he said, 'Main Lab-e-Shikwa Ko Si Leta Hu. Chand ghadiyaan hai yu hi jee leta hu. Magar ek baar samaj leta hu jis dost ka haath. Phir us haath se zeher pee leta hu." Asrani, while sharing the video of Kader, wrote:
"Miss you Kadar Khan Shahab. Jaha duniya tumse badalne ko kahe, waha dost hai joh tumhare jaise hi apnaye."
Asrani's last rites rituals were done at the Santacruz crematorium. After seeing the video, one user wrote, "Dono dosto ko sat sat naman. Miss you too, Asrani sir." Another user penned, "Ae yaar sun yaari teri mujhe zindagi se bhi pyaari hai. Asrani Sir Mein Aapka Bahut bada fan hu." Some users commented, "Do dost aaj Jannat me mile fir se. Bhagwan aapki parmatma ko shanti de. Kader sir n ap legends h sir ek bar bt ho jaye to maza a jaye." Netizens also remembered both the legends and said, "Hamare dono legend ab iss duniya me nhi rhe. Miss you both. I love you ....Kader bhai." A user even shared, "Kader Khan Saab and Asrani ji, All Time best jodi. I miss you, Kader Khan, sir! The legendary actor who worked as Asrani Ji!"
Kadar and Asrani were often seen in movies with stars such as Amitabh Bachchan, Jeetendra, Govinda, and Anil Kapoor. They did varied movies such as Coolie No.1, Raja Babu, Aankhen, Himmatwala, Tawaif, Gharwali Baharwali, and also Judwaa. Both the late stars' comedy timings complemented one another. Kader often played the intelligent and elder boss, while Asrani played the nervous characters, which was a good contrast.
Their off-screen chemistry showed that both of them had a lot of mutual respect and affection for one another. Kader and Asrani were both very educated, good in theatre, and were known to be humble as well as thoughtful. Kader, on the one hand, was known for his Urdu poetry and also had a lot of philosophical depth. He was also a trained star from the Film and Television Institute of India.
