Kajol Felt Left Out On 'Ishq' Set As Aamir, Juhi And Director Bonded Well, 'I Cant Be Talking..'

Ishq, released in 1997, continues to remain one of the most loved comedy films in Bollywood. Directed by Indra Kumar, the film had a stellar cast, including Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla, Kajol and Ajay Devgn. Whether it was the hilarious jokes, fun characters, heartwarming romantic scenes or catchy songs, everything about Ishq has become memorable over time. Even the on-screen chemistry between the actors became a talking point around the film, but in a recent interview, Kajol left everyone surprised after she revealed that she felt 'left out' while shooting for the film.

Kajol reveals sometimes she didn't feel like talking on the sets of Ishq

Kajol sat down for an interview with The Mashable and recalled her experience of working on the 1997 film, Ishq. Known for her bubbly, cheerful, talkative and honest personality, the actress surprised fans by sharing that she used to feel isolated while working on that multistarrer film. She mentioned that Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla, who were also part of the cast, used to share a close bond with the film's director, Indra Kumar. The close-knit bond had sometimes left her feeling like an outsider. She said:

"Aamir was very friendly with the director, and so was Juhi, so these three were a close-knit group and then there was Ajay and me. And eventually, it was just me. There were certain days on set when I was not willing to talk to anybody."

Kajol added that it took them nearly 300 days to complete work on the film. Since the schedule was longer than other films during those years with daily shooting hours, it made things more difficult for her. Looking back, Kajol can't recall what they were doing behind the scenes for so long. Despite her outgoing nature, the actress highlighted that even extroverts like her needed some quiet moments in life. Sharing her thoughts, Kajol said:

"We spent 300 days together. That film took 300 days to be made. We have no idea what we did for so many days. We used to spend 8-10 hours on set every day. I can't be talking to all of them at all times. I can try to be social but I can't constantly be chatting."

Kajol found the life of her life through Ishq

Kajol wasn't able to feel like a part of the close-knit bond between Aamir, Juhi or the filmmaker, but it did give her time to bond with Ajay Devgn. The actress had worked with him in the 1995 film Hulchul, but Ishq gave them time to known each other well and soon it deepened into love. After dating for a few years, they tied the knot on February 24, 1999. Kajol and Ajay are parents to two kids, a daughter, Nysa and a son, Yug while continuing to be happily married to each other.
