Spending our lives with the people we love is what makes it worth living for. Attaining success is important but having people to celebrate the same with is what makes it blissful. And as we grow up, we realise the few important ones in our lives, who no matter what will always stay with us through thick and thin, and value their presence more. And Teacher’s Day is one such day when we look back and thank all the important people of our lives, who somewhere taught us the greatest lessons of life. Actress, Kajol took this day as an opportunity to thank the most important people of her life. Daughter of veteran actress, Tanuja Samarth and late filmmaker, Shomu Mukherjee, Kajol has always proved that acting is in her genes. Recipient of numerous accolades, Kajol holds the record of winning the highest number of Best Actress award. After making her debut with the film, Bekhudi, Kajol had given some breakthrough performances in movies like Baazigar, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, My Name Is Khan, Fanaa, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, etc. In 2011, she was bestowed with Padma Shri. It was in 1994, when Kajol had fallen in love with actor, Ajay Devgan during the shooting of the film, Gundaraj and the lovely couple had gotten married on February 24, 1999.
On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, i.e., September 5, 2020, Kajol took to her IG handle and shared a picture of her ‘closest clan’. Kajol took a trip down the memory lane and shared a throwback picture featuring her parents, Tanuja and Shomu Mukherjee, her sister, Tanishaa Mukerji and her husband, Ajay Devgn. Along with the picture, she penned a heartfelt note which can be read as “From everything that we learn, what stays with us is what we get from our family. Here's to my closets clan who've taught me great values of life... #HappyTeachersDay2020.”
When Kajol had decided to get married to Ajay Devgn, it had come as a surprise to everyone as they are completely opposite to each other. Critics had labelled them as an ‘unlikely pair’, and many had commented that they would not last because of their contrasting personalities. On Neha Dhupia’s chat show, No Filter Neha, Kajol had opened up about her marriage and how besides both their parents, nobody else wanted both of them to get married. Talking about the same, she had mentioned that even her father was a little skeptical about her getting married to Ajay. She had revealed how her father had enquired why would she want to get married at such a young age and at the peak of her career, to which she had replied that she was in love with Ajay and had wanted to settle down. Kajol shares an adorable bond with her mother, Tanuja and sister, Tanishaa. For Kajol, her mother is a school of inspiration, who has guided her through all walks of life. Be it her personal life or professional decisions, Tanuja ji has always guided her. In an interview with India Today, Kajol had opened up about her equation with her mother, Tanuja while growing up. She had revealed, “I was petrified of her. I wouldn't put one toe out of line if I knew she didn't approve of it. My mother was one of the most forward-thinking people. I had the most amazing upbringing because of it. Topics like compassion, anger, forgiveness and death were discussed. Most things were not hidden.
