Kamalika Reacts To Smriti Irani's Comeback With 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' Sequel: 'A Loss..'

However, while the maker of the show, earlier in April 2025, hinted at Smriti's return, it was her co-star, Kamalika Guha, who has now reacted to the news.

Kamalika Guha attended an event on May 8, 2025, during which, she had a candid conversation with Viral Bhayani. The paparazzi page shared a video of the actress on their Instagram handle. In the clip, when Kamalika Guha was asked about Smriti Irani's return to the television industry, she responded by stating that her exit was a great loss to the entertainment industry. Kamalika called Smriti extremely talented and a wonderful actress. She was quoted as saying:

"Smriti is a wonderful actor. Aur Smriti ka acting chodhna is a loss to the acting industry because she is really wonderful and extremely talented."

In the same conversation, Kamalika Guha addressed the speculations about Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi's return with a sequel. She revealed that while she had heard the talk about the show's return, no concrete information had been shared with her. Kamalika added that if it happens, she will be extremely happy. She was quoted as saying:

"Haan maine suna hai ki show phirse revive honey waala hai lekin kuch concrete mere saath toh baat nahi hua hai. Let's see agar hota hai toh bohot badiya." 

Ektaa Kapoor earlier hinted at the return of Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi

It was on April 8, 2025, when a report by the Hindustan Times revealed that Ektaa Kapoor had officially confirmed the return of her cult show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. She not only confirmed the buzz about the show's return but also revealed that the second season would be 150 episodes long. Sharing the reason behind it, Ekta revealed that when the original TV show ended, it was 150 episodes short to reach the 2000-episode mark. She was quoted as saying:

"The love we have for this program brought everyone related to it back together to complete just those 150 episodes to reach that 2000 episode. This show deserves that."

During the conversation, Ektaa Kapoor also revealed that she plans on not only bringing the show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi back but also hinted that the show will be bringing a politician into entertainment, hinting at Smriti Irani's comeback as 'Tulsi Virani' in the show. The news left the entire fanbase thrilled, and they have been looking forward to further updates ever since.
