Kangana Ranaut is a talented actress, politician, and filmmaker. She has been one of the most controversial figures in the industry and is known to speak her mind without filters. The actress had an inspiring journey from anonymity to fame, and she has often made it a point to discuss her experiences over the years during her interview. Recently, Kangana has been on a promotional spree for her upcoming film, Emergency. She has been giving several back-to-back interviews, spilling out interesting anecdotes from her life and career.
Kangana Ranaut and Deepika Padukone are two of the most famous leading ladies in Bollywood who made it big with their talent. Although, they had no major conflict, Kangana has sometimes praised and sometimes taken digs at the Piku actress. However, Deepika has mostly been quiet about it. Recently, Kangana sat down for an interview with Mashable India and shared an interesting incident involving Deepika Padukone.
Kangana Ranaut mentioned an interesting story from when she was learning to drive. The Tanu Weds Manu actress recalled that she often hit other vehicles when she was learning to drive. She revealed that she and Deepika made their debut around the same time and used to go to the same driving school and live in Bandra. Kangana said that when she first took a driving test, she hit an auto-rickshaw twice as she pressed the accelerator a second time instead of breaks. The rickshaw driver was scared and ran away. After the incident, she left behind the idea of driving. She was quoted as saying:
"Deepika Padukone and I entered Bollywood around the same time—her debut was in 2007, mine was in 2006. We were even in the same driving school back then, both living in Bandra at the time. The first time I took the driving test, I drove my Santro out and ended up hitting an auto-rickshaw. The driver came out, yelling, and I realised I had pressed the accelerator instead of the brake—twice! The auto driver got so scared he ran away, probably thinking, 'This woman is crazy.' After that, I gave up on driving."
In the same interview, Kangana recalled and shared that she once saw Deepika Padukone driving her SUV car five years later. She thought of being unable to drive despite attending the same driving school as Deepika. Kangana admitted feeling like it was a matter of pride and tried to drive her BMW car, which hit a police jeep. Consequently, the Queen actress gave up driving after it. In her words:
"Five years later, I saw Deepika driving her SUV and thought, 'We were in the same driving school and learned at the same time, but she's driving, and I still can't.' It became a matter of pride, so I decided to try again. This time, I had a BMW. I practised for a week and went for the driving test again. But once again, I hit something—this time, it was a police jeep. My driver was like, 'Madam apne police ki gadi thok di. I again did the same mistake of pressing the accelerator instead of the brake."
On the work front, Kangana was last seen in the film, Tejas. She then entered politics and contested the Lok Sabha elections from Mandi, which she won. The actress will next be seen in her highly anticipated film, Emergency.
