Kapil Sharma has seen the worst of times and has risen from it every time. However, things took an ugly turn in 2017, when Kapil had an in-flight fight with Sunil Grover, following which the latter vowed to never work with him. Soon, Kapil's team split as Ali Asgar also left the show, and Kapil slipped into depression. However, Kapil Sharma's wife, Gini Chatrath, helped him during his toughest phase. But it seems like Kapil and Sunil had let bygones be bygones as they reunited and partied together.
Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover gave a happy surprise to their fans as the duo reunited for a new project which will stream on the digital platform, Netflix. On December 15, 2023, Kapil took to his Instagram handle and posted a cutesy picture with Sunil Grover as they partied with their other friends. The once friend-turned-foes happily posed with each other, proving that friends also go through breakups sometimes.

Along with it, Kapil Sharma penned, "Abhi toh party shuru hui hai." To this, Sunil, in his own usual way, commented that they would party but with caution. He wrote:
"Haan lekin sambhal ke party karenge!"
Sunil Grover left Kapil Sharma's show after their fight. However, soon many members of his team bid him goodbye. While interacting with Aaj Tak, Kapil Sharma talked about his team members leaving him. He clearly added that people cannot put everyone in Sunil's place, and other team members like Bharti, Ali Asgar, and Krushna Abhishek left the show for their own reasons.
Kapil and Sunil had worked together in two show, Comedy Nights with Kapil and The Kapil Sharma Show. It was in 2013, when Sunil walked out of Kapil's show stating that he was offered more money. They soon reunited, but it was in 2017 when they had an altercation mid-air while they were returning from Melbourne, Australia.
