Comedian and actor, Kapil Sharma rose to fame after winning the stand-up comedy reality show, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge season 3, in 2007. He is currently a household name in India, courtesy of his popular talk show, The Kapil Sharma Show. Kapil will be seen portraying the role of a lower-middle-class man, who works as a food delivery agent, in his upcoming movie, Zwigato. In a recent interview, he reacted to the reports that his net worth is currently Rs. 300 crores.
During his recent interview with AajTak, Kapil Sharma opened up about his personal as well as professional life. When the host mentioned that Kapil is worth Rs. 300 crores, the comedian laughed at the suggestion. Reflecting on the same, he said that he has a house and a car, along with a beautiful family that lives with him. However, Kapil mentioned that he still thinks of himself as a middle-class salaried man but his wife, Ginni Chatrath, loves to spend on things. In his words:
“I have also lost a lot of money… But, truthfully, I don’t think about all this. I know that I have a house, and a car, I have a family, and that’s all that matters. Of course, I’m no saint. I won’t turn down good money. But even today, meri soch salary wali hai. My wife likes spending on things, but I don’t. But she comes from money, so it’s different.”

Further in the conversation, Kapil lauded his wife, Ginni Chatrath, and mentioned that she didn't face problems while adjusting to his acting background after their marriage. Citing the reason behind the same, the comedian shared that his wife hailed from a well-to-do family, and since both of them are Punjabis, they bonded well. Kapil also revealed that he respects Ginni a lot as she stood by him through thick and thin. Kapil also added that he hopes to make more money so that his kids might have a different experience while growing up with privilege.
The host then asked Kapil Sharma if he is an insecure man who can’t see others succeed, mentioning how so many cast members of The Kapil Sharma Show were dropped over the years. Reacting to the same, Kapil said:
“I’ve never felt insecurity. In fact, I’ve brought people on that I admired… I used to be short-tempered, I’ll admit. It was in my blood; I was an extremist. I would love passionately, and when I was angry, I would really lose composure. But I have improved.”

Kapil also mentioned that other cast members, including Chandan Prabhakar, Krushna Abhishek and Ali Asgar had different reasons for leaving the show. Mentioning that he no longer produces his show, the comedian revealed that he has no say in salary negotiations and letting the people go or retaining them on the show. Speaking about his fallout with Sunil Grover, Kapil said:
“People say I have rivalries. But I have no rivalries with anybody, I am the one and only. Call me egotistical if you will… Ask them why they don’t want to work with me. Yes, Sunil and I had a falling out. But I’m on good terms with the rest of them.”
Despite being a successful man, Kapil Sharma prefers to lead a simple life with his family, away from all the media attention. For the unversed, Kapil tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart, Ginni Chatrath, in a lavish wedding ceremony on December 12, 2018. The madly-in-love couple embraced parenthood for the first time after the arrival of their daughter, Anayra, in 2019. Two years later, their family got complete as they welcomed their son, Trishaan in 2021.
