Karan Recalls Eating 'Chinese Food' With Amrita And 'Young' Saif, While Introducing Ibrahim Ali Khan

Karan Johar is one of the most prominent filmmakers in the country who has grown up surrounded by the film industry. During his more than three decades of career, he has made countless bonds, and one of the most special one is his friendship with Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan. Although the former couple parted ways long ago, Karan shares a good equation with both and has worked with them and their daughter, Sara Ali Khan multiple times. In a recent move, the filmmaker recalled his first meeting with the two actors as he hinted towards working with their younger kid, Ibrahim Ali Khan. 

Karan Johar reminisces about his first meeting with Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan 

On January 29, 2025, Karan Johar took to his Instagram handle and shared a heartfelt post about his 40-year-old bond with Amrita Singh, Saif Ali Khan, and the Pataudi family. At the end of the note, the filmmaker officially introduced their 23-year-old son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, to the world. For those unaware, Ibrahim also worked as an assistant director on Karan Johar's last directorial venture, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. 

Sharing some pictures of Ibrahim, Karan recalled that he first met Amrita, whom he fondly knew as "Dingy" (as called by her close ones), when he was 12. He mentioned she was working on the 1984 film Duniya, made by his father, Yash Johar's production house. He recalled how he admired her grace and energy with impressive screen presence. Karan even ate chinese food and watched James Bond films with the 2 States actress as they gradually became good friends. He penned: 

"She treated me like her own the second we met, and that was the power of her grace...which lives on through her and her children, too!"

Karan Johar feels Ibrahim Ali Khan has qualities of young Saif Ali Khan 

In the note, Karan continued that he first met Saif Ali Khan at filmmaker, Anand Mahendru's office. He found him to be charming and effortless as a person. At the same time, Karan feels these qualities have been passed on to his son, Ibrahim. The director-producer recounted his past work collaborations with Saif, Amrita, and Sara, and he mentioned that he would soon announce his new collaboration with Ibrahim Ali Khan. In Karan's words: 

"Films are in their blood, their genes, and their passion. We make way for a new wave of talent, one that I cannot wait for the world to see. So, stay tuned as Ibrahim makes his way into your hearts and soon...onto the screens!"

Ibrahim Ali Khan earlier paused his work due to attack on Saif Ali Khan 

Ibrahim Ali Khan has been running a busy schedule as he has been working on a project with Karan Johar and shooting for another film, Diler, with Dinesh Vijan. However, the upcoming actor had to pause his work for a couple of days after his father, Saif Ali Khan, was stabbed at his residence on January 16, 2025. Two days later, Ibrahim resumed work but has been constantly visiting his father in the hospital and at his residence to keep a check on his recovery.
