Karan Johar is a successful filmmaker and film producer in Bollywood. He has served audiences with memorable hits and iconic characters. One of the most controversial shows has been Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, which gave audiences an insight into the glitzy life of Bollywood wives. He recently sat down for a conversation with Sucharita, revealing the surprising incident that inspired him to make the show.
Karan Johar is a popular figure in the Hindi film industry and shares a good equation with a lot of actors, filmmakers and fashion designers among others. He is a regular guest at Bollywood parties and events. However, the RARKPK director was shocked when he overheard the Bollywood celebrity wives discussing fashion at a funeral event. He said:

"I was deeply saddened and disturbed when I heard Bollywood star wives discussing clothes and fashion at a funeral. We were on the same flight, attending a funeral, and these four women enthusiastically chatted about clothes."

Karan added that someone had passed away, and people gathered to conduct the last rites. However, the star wives paid no consideration to the occasion. The filmmaker said that Maheep Kapoor, wife of Sanjay Kapoor, was particularly engrossed in the conversation. The unique scene gave him the idea to make a show based on the behind-the-scenes lives of Bollywood wives.
After the release of The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, it was trending on Netflix at the Number 1 spot. Karan had shared a long note on Instagram appreciating the cast and team of the show. In addition, he accepted that the show was cringy, a little superficial, a guilty pleasure, and far from intellectual. But, the women's unique personality on the show made it an entertaining watch.

After the popularity of The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, a second season followed the controversial show. It focused on the lives of four Bollywood wives, Neelam Kothari Soni, Maheep Kapoor, Seema Khan, and Bhavana Pandey. Interestingly, it has been renewed for a third season, with three new Bollywood wives from Delhi entering the show. It includes Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Bharat Sahni's wife and Ranbir Kapoor's sister. In addition, Shalini Passi, wife of Sanjay Passi, chairman of PASCO Group, and Kalyani Saha Chawla, the ex-wife of Vishal Chawla, will grace the show.
