If there is one celebrity in Bollywood who is always under the radar and makes it to the headlines on a daily basis, it is Karan Johar. In 1998, he started his career as a director with Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kajol starrer Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Since then, he has directed only 6 feature films under his own production house, Dharma Productions, and all of them have gone on to become big money spinners at the box-office. He also holds immense popularity with the Indian television audience as the host of Koffee with Karan and as a judge of the shows like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and India's Got Talent. Karan Johar is regarded as the most popular director and producer of Bollywood. Under his banner, 20 films have been produced and their cumulative box-office gross figure stands at more than Rs 1,700 crores! Talking about the humongous success of Dharma Productions, Karan Johar had once shared, “I’m not business savvy at all, despite the projection. I don’t know how to lead by authority, I know how to lead by compassion and that’s the one quality I inculcate in the DNA of this company.”
Clearly, he deserves all the honours and awards his way, right? Well, Madame Tussauds, Singapore decided to honour Karan Johar by installing his wax statue and put him in the league with other stars like Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Amitabh Bachchan, among others. Karan Johar was accompanied by his mom, Hiroo Johar. In the pictures shared by Karan himself on Instagram, we can see Karan and Hiroo Johar posing in front of his wax statue and looking at it as if they are taking a selfie. Take a look at Karan Johar’s wax statue at Madame Tussauds, Singapore:
Karan Johar captioned the above pictures as, “WAXED!!! At @mtssingapore #madametussauds!! What fun with my mom @hiroojohar and my family!!!!! @anushkaskhanna @priyankaskhanna #masi #payal and my surprise from friends who are too shy to be named!!!”

The official page of Madame Tussauds, Singapore had earlier shared the news of unveiling of Karan Johar’s wax statue. Sharing the following picture, they had captioned it as, “Not a fan of coffee?? But not with @karanjohar’s Koffee because he will definitely brew to perfection! ;) Join us at the opening of Ultimate Film Star experience on 4th of April. Just 3 more days!” (Must Read: Sonali Bendre Was Shattered But Never Thought About Death When She Learnt Of Her Cancer)
Karan Johar told the Bombay Times recently that it would be so great to bring his children, Yash Johar and Roohi Johar to show his wax statue. He had shared, “I remember visiting Madame Tussauds museum with my father (late filmmaker Yash Johar) when I was eight years old. I remember the feeling of awe and wonderment I had at that time. It feels like a childhood dream just got realised. Today, my statue will be a part of this prestigious museum and I am vastly excited and honoured.”
The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director further added, “The fact that I can bring my babies (Roohi and Yash) one day to this museum, and they can see their father standing tall amongst so many illustrious and luminous personalities, is the most emotional feeling for me. Waxing eloquent is something I have attempted to do for many years now, but being waxed is an altogether different high.”
Hiroo Johar, who accompanied Karan Johar, during the unveiling of his wax statue, is the centre of his universe. He is always vocal about his love for his mother on social media and interviews. Last year, on March 8, 2018, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Karan Johar had shared a heartfelt message wishing to raise Roohi Johar (his surrogate daughter) just like her grandmother. He wrote on social media, “I was raised by a woman who had a strong mind, an independent mind and a solid soul. She taught me how to live a fearless life along with a strong sense of right and wrong! She also taught me the art of abandon! She made me the man I am, a man who is honoured to be raised by a woman of substance! Roohi my darling I hope I raise you to be just like your grandmother.” (You May Like: Saumya Tandon Reveals Her Mid-Back Hurt While Feeding Her Baby, Takes Baby Steps Towards Fitness)
