Six years ago, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein fame, Karan Patel and Kasautii Zindagii Kay fame, Ankita Bhargava officially became one in a big-fat Gujarati wedding. Struck by Cupid's sharpest love arrow, theirs was a match arranged by families and in a 'chat mangni, pat byaah', Karan and Ankita became husband and wife on May 3, 2015. Four years later, in 2019, God blessed the couple with an angel, whom they have named Mehr Patel and since then, their lives have been revolving around the little one.

To mark five years of their wedding in 2020, Ankita Bhargava had baked a few cakes for Karan Patel and their little one, Mehr, and sharing the pictures of the same, she thanked everyone for their wishes. Ankita had also given a glimpse of the sweet treat from her mother-in-law, who specially cooked jalebis for the couple. Ankita had captioned her post as "Special Thanks from Mehr to everyone who took out time from their busy quarantine schedules to call, message and post for our #marriageanniversary .... On their sixth wedding anniversary, Karan Patel posted a selfie with Ankita Bhargava from one of their vacations. Wondering how he got so lucky and thanking his wife, Ankita for coming into his life and making it worth living, Karan captioned his anniversary post as "Thanking you for coming into my life and making it worth living wouldn't be enough. Saying that you're the best wife in this world won’t suffice either. Being great full to god for sending me his best blessing in the form of a life partner would do no justice to even begin explaining what you mean to me. So all I will say is Happy Anniversary baby ….. I love you more than I did yesterday and may be a lil less than what I will tomorrow. On May 1, 2015, Ankita Bhargava and Karan Patel's sangeet and engagement ceremony had taken place and to mark the sixth anniversary of the same, she had shared a compilation of pictures from the function. For the sangeet ceremony, Ankita had opted for an orange and turquoise-coloured lehenga with minimal jewellery and makeup. Karan had picked a blue-coloured Jodhpuri-western suit. Ankita Bhargava and Karan Patel's sangeet and engagement ceremony was followed by their haldi and mehendi rituals. To mark the sixth anniversary of the mehendi and haldi rituals, Ankita had posted a video, comprising some of her favourite moments from the ceremonies. Ankita had captioned the post as "Few of my favourite moments from our Haldi & Mehendi ceremony 6 yrs ago! 02.05.2015 #throwback #haldi #mehendi @karan9198." For the haldi ceremony, while Karan opted for a blue shirt and denim, Ankita picked a pink saree. For her mehendi ceremony, Ankita kept it simple in a blue kurti.
In an interview with The Times of India, Ankita Bhargava had spoken proudly about her husband, Karan Patel, expressing how happy she is that her family has found a son in him. Ankita was quoted as saying, "Karan is a beautiful person, and all this while, I had never met him at any party or even spoken to him often. Dad used to mention about his acting and work regularly at home, but I never thought that we would come together. I am happy that my family has found a son in him. The best part about Karan is, though we are both different individuals, we complement each other and think alike."
