Karan Veer Mehra Reveals He Actively Tried Adoption And Surrogacy Options, 'Wanted A Girl Child...'

Karan Veer Mehra has been making the headlines since he began his journey on Bigg Boss 18. His friendship with Shilpa Shirodkar, bond with Chum Darang and clashes with Vivian Desena made headlines. However, audiences connected with his personality, and he took home the prestigious trophy. During Karan's stint on the show, his professional and personal life, including two broken marriages, became a public discussion subject. Although Karan has expressed his hesitation in tying the knot for the third time, he opened up about his desire to have kids in a new interview. 

Karan Veer Mehra reveals he wanted to have a baby girl 

Karan Veer Mehra sat down for an interview with Pinkvilla. He discussed different aspects of his journey on Bigg Boss 18, his bond with co-contestants, past career experiences and his personal life. Amid the conversation, Karan was asked if he desired to become a father. In his reply, the actor acknowledged the question and revealed that he seriously wanted to have kids at one point in his life. Particularly a girl child. 

Karan revealed that he was determined to be a father to such an extent that he began to look to adopt a baby girl. However, it was extremely challenging for him to adopt a girl child as a single father, and maybe a single father can't adopt. He noted that the rules for adoption have become quite severe, and one has to wait for a long time to have it. On the other hand, he also considered surrogacy as an alternative to becoming a father and other options. However, nothing worked in his favour. In his words: 

"Of course. There was a time when I wanted kids. I was looking for adoption. Although I wanted a girl child, I think single father ko nahi dete hain. Bahut strict rules hain and number bahut late aata hai, then surrogacy. Bahut saari cheezein kar raha tha.”

Karan Veer Mehra says he is happy to play with his sister's kids 

Karan Veer Mehra revealed that despite things not working out in his favour to have a child, he is happy to in look after and play with his sister's kids. The 44-year-old actor shared that his sister has two adorable kids, Aviraj and Advik, and he jokingly stated that he often takes them on loan to play and spend time with them. Karan revealed that he was the one to name them and could always take them with him at any time. Consequently, he feels happy to have them in his life. 

Karan Veer Mehra's personal life so far

Karan Veer Mehra had a crush on his childhood friend and schoolmate, Devika. After dating her for around 10 years, he suddenly proposed to her one day and they tied the knot in 2009. However, after some years, issues began to crop up in their marriage, and the couple parted ways in 2018 due to compatibility issues. Later, in 2021, Karan tied the knot with actress, Nidhi Seth in an Anand Karaj ceremony. But, they parted ways after two years in 2023. In an interview with Etimes, Nidhi called the marriage a 'big mistake' as they had many fights and things became difficult for them. During Karan's stint in Bigg Boss 18, he was linked with co-contestant, Chum Darang but they haven't confirmed being in a relationship.
