June 14, 2025, marks five years since the death of actor, Sushant Singh Rajput, but the emotion still runs among fans, family and close friends. Actor, Karanveer Mehra took to his Instagram to share a few unseen photos of him with Sushant and penned an emotional note, remembering the bond he shared with him. His tribute speaks a lot about their friendship and the influence that Sushant's had on Karan.
Karanveer dropped an Instagram post of a series of unseen and candid photos of him and Sushant. Those photos beautifully show the strong bond the two had between them. Along with the photos, Karan wrote an emotional note, starting with lovingly calling Sushant, ‘Kamini’ and calling June 14, a black day, which continues to haunt him even after five years.
In the caption, Karanveer wrote how he wished he could share his current success with Sushant, the one person who believed in him when no one else did. He recalled a moment when he had been on the verge of quitting the industry, but Sushant sat him down and laid out his career path like a blueprint, using logic, reasoning and heartfelt encouragement. It was Sushant’s clarity and faith that helped Karan find direction and purpose.
In the caption, Karan also mentioned that even after being Dyslexic, it was Sushant who encouraged him to read and write. In a world where friendships revolve around sharing interests, their friendship was entirely thoughtful and focused on growth. Karan mentioned that Sushant was the one to push him into reading and writing because of this Karan developed the knack for stealing poetry. He also added a poetry in his caption, which said:
“Maine khuda se pucha wo kyun chhodh gaya mujhe, uski kyaa majburi thi…Khuda ne kaha na kasoor tera tha, naa galti uski thi, maine ye kahani likhi hi adhuri thi.”
Karanveer Mehra and Sushant Singh Rajput met while working on Pavitra Rishta, a show that still remains iconic for Indian television. While Sushant played the beloved 'Manav', Karanveer joined later, for the role of 'Naren Karmakar'. The duo bonded quickly off-screen. The two connected not just as actors, but as thinkers and dreamers. Even when Sushant shifted into Bollywood, Karanveer always spoke very fondly of him of being a kind-hearted soul who made time for others. Their bond continued through calls, meetups and memories, making Karanveer’s post even more heart touching. For him, Sushant wasn’t just a co-star, he was a friend, a brother and a teacher who left a lasting influence on him.
