Shahid Kapoor and his ex-girlfriend, Kareena Kapoor, were once hailed as one of the much-loved couples. For those who don't know, Kareena and Shahid were in a relationship with each other for five years, and with their mushy camaraderie, they often painted the town red. Fast forward to today, Shahid and Kareena both are living the best phases of their lives with their respective partners, Mira Rajput and Saif Ali Khan. However, Shahid and Kareena's on-screen chemistry has been swooning millions of hearts for years, even after they parted ways. For the unversed, the duo acted in films like Fida, Chup Chup Ke, 36 China Town, Jab We Met, and Milenge Milenge.

Imtiaz Ali directed Jab We Met, which continues to be one of the much-loved films among youngsters, and the craze for the movie has never diminished. There's no denying the fact that the audience has been eagerly waiting for a sequel of this movie. And there have been some ongoing rumours that the Jab We Met sequel may hit the sliver screens again. Well, it seems like the rumours were right.

As per the latest report in Times Now, the planning for the iconic movie, Jab We Met has been taking shape. The sequel will reportedly be produced under the Gandhar Films banner by Raj Mehta. If the reports are to be believed, Imtiaz Ali will direct the sequel version of the movie. It is worth mentioning that no such official confirmation about the same has been made yet.

Will 'Geet' and 'Aditya', i.e., Shahid and Kareena be seen in Jab We Met sequel?

Although it can not be determined whether the ex-couples, Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor will be on board for the Jab We Met sequel, it's now being speculated that the duo will be playing their iconic roles as 'Aditya' and 'Geet' respectively. The rumours about the movie's sequel started doing rounds on the internet when Shahid Kapoor gave a slight hint about the possibility of the same. As per the reports, a fan of the actor asked him on Valentine's Day about his frequent interaction with Imtiaz Ali. To this, Shahid Kapoor said:

"Smart Boy."

When Shahid Kapoor was asked if he would like to act in the Jab We Met sequel

For those who don't know, Jab We Met was re-released in theatres a few days back. However, during that time, Shahid Kapoor was asked if he would like to play the role in the sequel version of this iconic movie. As a response, Shahid said that it mainly depends on the script. He mentioned that if the script could easily match up with the original version, he would definitely come forward. Not only this, Shahid also heaped praises on his Jab We Met co-star, Kareena, and shared that no one can pull off that role other than her. Shahid could be quoted as saying:

"I cannot comment on my role, but for Geet, I really doubt anybody else will be able to do that kind of justice."
