Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan are two of the most prominent names in the Indian film industry. The Kapoor sisters, who have an age gap of 6 years, have carved their own niche in the industry. While Karisma was recently seen in the Netflix mystery thriller, Murder Mubarak, on the other hand, Kareena is all set for the release of her comedy film, Crew.
Recently, during a round table conversation on Netflix India’s YouTube channel, Karisma Kapoor revealed the correct pronunciation of her name. The host asked the actress to tell him the correct pronunciation of her name. Karisma revealed that her name should be spoken as ‘Karizzma’ as in ‘charisma’, and not the Hindi pronunciation ‘Karishma’, which means miracle. Her Murder Mubarak co-stars were surprised by this revelation, and Pankaj Tripathi was heard saying, “Mujhe bhi aaj hi pata chala”. Further, Sara chipped in and said, “But you never corrected anybody ever!”

Just a few days after this revelation, Karisma Kapoor’s sister, Kareena Kapoor Khan appeared on The Ranveer Show, hosted by Ranveer Allahbadia. While conversing with the host on various facets of her professional and personal life, Kareena recalled how their mother, Babita helped in grooming her two daughters. What caught everyone’s attention on social media was the way Kareena pronounced Karisma’s name during the interaction. Kareena pronounced her sister’s name as ‘Karishma’ and not ‘Karizzma’.
One Instagram user made a video out of these two clips and posted it on the social media platform. The reel has garnered around 668K views, and scores of people on the internet have shared their thoughts on it. One user wrote, “Bcz its not karizma it’s actually karishma means miracle … faaltu mai achhe khase nam ko english accent dena jaroori hai?” Another one said, “Hume koi matlab nahi ye sab se, humare liye to ye lolo hai.” A third one mentioned, “I was thinking same after watching Kareena's Podcast. Kariszma is just trying to be cool.”

During the interaction with Ranveer Allahbadia on his podcast, Kareena Kapoor talked about how she learnt from seeing her sister, Karisma Kapoor’s career. The actress revealed that her elder sister started shooting at the mere age of 15, and she was present when Karisma gave her first shot. Further calling herself ‘lucky’ for this guidance, Kareena said:
“I was constantly watching. I think I have lived two careers. Even before things happen, I know how things are going to pan out. I have seen so much. My sister started shooting at the age of 15. I am six years younger than her, so I was there when she gave her first shot. I was Taimur’s age at that time. I have seen her journey. So, I am lucky to have that guidance. I watched from the wings.”
