Kareena Kapoor Charges Rs. 21Cr Yet Can't Afford Security Or Full-Time Driver, Says, Akashdeep Sabir

Kareena Kapoor Khan and her family faced one of the most dreadful circumstances in January 2025 after Saif Ali Khan was attacked during an alleged robbery at their residence in Bandra, Mumbai. The actor was rushed to the hospital immediately after the horrifying ordeal took place, where he underwent emergency surgery. The actor was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital, where he recovered for a week before being discharged. The incident fueled numerous discussions regarding the safety of actors and the lack of security.

Even weeks after the incident, the industry still has many unanswered questions about how one of the top actors in Bollywood, didn't have a security guard and a driver at home. In a recent interview with Lehren Retro, Akashdeep Sabir and his wife, Sheeba, also took a dig at Saif and Kareena for being incapable of affording a security guard and a full-time driver. During the conversation, the couple discussed pay parity in the industry.

The duo claimed that it wasn't Rashmika Mandana who brought the audience to the theatre but the Pushpa star, Allu Arjun. They asserted that this was why the actress was reportedly paid only Rs. 10 crores for the film while Allu Arjun took home a staggering Rs. 100 crores. However, the discussion took a turn, and Akashdeep took a dig at Kareena Kapoor Khan and stated:

"This is why Kareena, with a price tag (fee) of Rs. 21 crores, couldn’t afford a watchman outside her house. When you will pay them Rs. 100 crore, maybe then they can afford security or a driver at night. Auto! (When I met her) Kareena was a bachchi. I fought on TV debates to support Saif and Kareena. I directed and produced Karishma, which was Karisma Kapoor’s debut on Sahara. Kareena wasn't an actress, she was a baby then."

Akashdeep Sabir claimed that he always supported Saif and Kareena on TV debates. However, he was not able to answer two things when it came to the couple, one of which was why they didn't have a full-time driver. Akashdeep also mentioned how he never understood why the duo didn't have a security guard. He stated:

"Dignified and very distinguished couple, but I had no answer for two things in the debate when they used to ask me, 'Why was there no security guard outside the house…' It might be a safe building with 30 CCTV, but how will CCTV bring a handout and stop the robber? It can only help you solve the crime, not stop the crime."
