Kareena Kapoor Khan is one of the leading actresses in Bollywood. She has been a part of the Hindi film industry for more than two decades and has showcased her versatility with her roles in many films. Kareena is friends with most of her contemporaries and shares a special bond with Akshay Kumar. The duo worked together in many films, the last one being Good Newzz. The film also featured Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh in the lead roles.
Recently, we stumbled upon a video from the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2019, wherein Kareena Kapoor Khan and Akshay Kumar sat for a candid conversation about their career graphs. During the same, Bebo shed some light on the issue of pay disparity in Bollywood and took a sly dig at Akshay, who was sitting next to her on the stage. Kareena said:

“As far as the paycheck goes, I just want to get paid as much as Akshay Kumar gets paid.”
Akshay Kumar was seen making weird expressions and looking at Kareena in disbelief. When Bebo pointed that out, Akshay was quick to switch his defensive mode on and revealed that he doesn't take remuneration for most of his projects and instead partners with the filmmaker to make the film. He then takes 50 per cent of the share when the film is released. He further asked Bebo if she is okay with such an arrangement and said:
“Let’s talk about Good Newwz, to begin with, I am a partner with Karan Johar. I am ready, in front of everyone, to make a film where she does the hero’s role and she will be 50-50 partner with it. Is it agreed?”
However, instead of reacting to Akshay Kumar's offer, Kareena challenged the notion immediately and said that she was an artist and played the role of the hero in Good Newzz. She was pointing out the fact that the film's story revolved around two pregnant women. She was heard saying:
“I am saying that in Good Newwz, technically, the girl is also the hero of the movie.”

But Akshay Kumar again asked Kareena whether she was ready to accept a deal where there would be no remuneration. However, she kept stressing the fact that she is not the heroine of the movie but the hero. To this, Akshay reacted:
"She is very smart. She will never sign the deal with me. It's a great opportunity to start your own production."
