Kareena Kapoor Khan And Saif Ali Khan Spotted At Sunjay Kapur's Prayer Meet In Delhi

Bollywood’s power couple, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan were recently spotted at the Mumbai airport, from where they were leaving to Delhi to attend the last rites of Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur. On June 22, 2025, the couple was spotted at The Taj Palace Hotel to attend the prayer meet of Sunjay Kapur. Not just Saif and Kareena, Karisma along with her children were also spotted there.

Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor along with her children (Samaira and Kiaan), were spotted in Delhi at The Taj Palace Hotel, on June 22, 2025, for the prayer meet, which took place in the evening. A video of the same was posted by Pinkvilla on their Instagram handle. While Karisma led her children into the venue, Kareena and Saif followed quietly, standing by her side during this emotional time. The family was dressed in simple and traditional white outfits, as a mark of respect. The presence of Kareena and Saif showed not only emotional support but also a strong sense of unity within the Kapoor family. Their presence would have been the pillar of strength for Karisma, Samaira and Kiaan in their difficult time.

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan attended Sunjay Kapur's funeral

On June 19, 2025, the funeral of Sunjay Kapur took place at the Lodhi Road cremation ground. Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan joined Karisma Kapoor and her children, Samaira and Kiaan, as well as other close family members. Kareena’s presence was not just as an ex sister-in-law but also as a sister who wanted to stay beside Karisma and be her strength. Saif Ali Khan was present there and quietly supported both the women as a caring figure in the family and as Karisma’s brother-in-law. 

Sunjay Kapur’s dies at 53

Sunjay Kapur was the chairman of the company, Sona Comstar and was a well-known figure in the business world and polo circles. He tragically passed away on June 12, 2025, after collapsing during a polo match in London, United Kingdom. Just before collapsing, he said, "I have swallowed something". Later, it was told that a bee had stung the inside of his mouth or throat, causing the airways to swell up, which caused an anaphylactic shock. Despite immediate medical help, he couldn't be saved. Sunjay Kapur's death left everyone, including his family, friends, and the business world, in deep shock.

Who was Sunjay Kapur?

Sunjay Kapur was a successful businessman and a well known face in the polo world. He was the chairman of Sona Comstar, a leading global automotive components company, especially of electric vehicles. Apart from his business, he loved playing polo. His polo circle even included Prince Williams. He also gained a lot of public attention particularly because of his marriage with actress, Karisma Kapoor, which ended in 2016. The couple had two children together - Samaira and Kiaan. Later, Sunjay married Priya Sachdev.
