People go, but what remains with us is their memory that is forever etched in our hearts. It was this day, two years back, when the wife of the legendary actor-filmmaker, Raj Kapoor and the Kapoor family's matriarch, Krishna Raj Kapoor had passed away due to cardiac arrest. On October 1, 2018, the nation had woken up to a heart-wrenching news of Krishna Raj Kapoor taking her last breath and her demise has surely left a great void in the lives of the Kapoors. Krishna Raj Kapoor and Raj Kapoor were not only blessed with doting children, but were more-than-lucky as they had such affectionate daughters-in-law, sons-in-law and grandchildren. In 2018, Krishna Raj Kapoor and Raj Kapoor’s son, Randhir Kapoor had confirmed the news of his mother’s demise and had stated to PTI, "My mother passed away at about 5 am today due to cardiac arrest...old age was another factor. We are deeply saddened by her demise.” It was on September 29, 2018, when Rishi Kapoor had left for the US for his cancer treatment, and two days later, his mother had breathed her last. It was the reason why Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor weren’t there to bid a final adieu to Krishna Raj Kapoor. But the Kapoor khandaan was present to pay their last tributes to Krishna ji.

To mark the second death anniversary of Krishna Raj Kapoor on October 1, 2020, her granddaughter, Kareena Kapoor Khan posted a picture of her dadi on her IG stories. Remembering Krishna ji on her second death anniversary, Kareena posted a portrait of her dadi with a garland on the frame. Kareena has put just a heart emoticon on the picture.
A few weeks ago, Kareena Kapoor Khan had posted a beautiful memory from the Kapoors’ family archive. Kareena had posted a childhood picture of herself, with OG posers of the Kapoor clan i.e., Karisma Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. The little ones of the Kapoor clan had posed with their grandparents, Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor. On Krishna Raj Kapoor’s first death anniversary, her daughter-in-law, Neetu Kapoor had posted a heartfelt note for her mother-in-law. Captioning a selfie with her, Neetu ji had written, “Loved her more than a mother!!! it’s been a year since she left us I still feel she is around she will always stay in my heart with some wonderful memories. I have never or will meet anyone like her!!! No malice no negativity only LOVE.” Even Krishna Raj Kapoor’s grandchildren, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Armaan Jain had posted lovely pictures, remembering their grandmother.

As Neetu Kapoor had not attended her mother-in-law, Krishna Raj Kapoor’s last rites, she had penned a eulogy for her ‘best friend’ and had shared a lovely picture with her. Neetu ji had captioned the following picture on her Instagram as “She was such a huge influence in my life admired her elegance with generosity and warmth!!! She will always stay in my heart #noonelikeher #besthumanbieng #lovedher #bestfriend."
In an interview with The Times of India, Rishi Kapoor had expressed his feelings on not being able to attend his mother, Krishna Raj Kapoor’s funeral. The doting son had shared, “That was very unfortunate. I left for the US on September 29, and my mother passed away on October 1. She knew that I had contracted a serious disorder. That entire period was traumatic for me. I was caught up with my problem. I didn’t know what to do, and I didn’t have an option because I had to be here in New York. My brother told me that by the time I would get back, it would be too late.
