Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan are one of the most loved star couples in Bollywood. In a recent conversation, Kareena Kapoor revealed what made her understand the value of spending family time together and what it looks like.
Kareena Kapoor recently sat down for a conversation with The Nod Mag and opened up about how the COVID-19 lockdown has changed her perspective on spending family time. She acknowledged that she was fortunate to get an opportunity to play diverse roles on-screen and she still feels a lot is left to be done in that direction. However, rather than focusing on the quantity of films she does, Kareena wants to preserve her talent and energy to focus on quality roles. In her words:
"I'm happy I'm not chasing anymore. I see younger actors running from one thing to the next, and I just think: I'm glad I'm past that. My friends know not to expect me at after 9:30 pm at parties and they respect creating a work-life balance."
Kareena Kapoor shared that the pandemic made them realise the significance of spending some simple moments together as a family, like cooking or just being at home. So, Saif and their sons, Taimur and Jeh often join her in the kitchen for cooking. The actress revealed that Saif likes to eat Kerala's cuisine, and he is trying to learn how to make idiyappam and coconut-based stews. While she at least wants one Indian meal in a day. Sharing her thoughts on work-life balance, Kareena said:
"I don't feel like leaving my kids alone because I don't want to be seen at some awards show. I want to be able to choose—because I'd rather sit at home with my husband and watch a show or have a glass of wine."
Before Kareena, her husband, Saif Ali Khan, sat down for a conversation at the Arab Media Summit and discussed how success for him is about having the ability to prioritise his family. The actor admitted that he doesn't like it when he comes home late only to see his kids have already slept. Instead, success for him is having the option to make time to spend with his family. At the time, Saif explained that he is at an age where he has to look equally after his mother as he does for his kids. So, whenever he takes vacation time off, he ensures that he doesn't work at all.
Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan's love story is not less iconic than their careers. Romance began to brew between the couple on the sets of their 2008 film, Tashan. The bond quickly deepened, and Saif's bold gesture of getting a tattoo of Kareena's name on his forearm broke the headlines. It confirmed their relationship and after dating for a couple of years, they tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2012. The couple welcomed their son, Taimur, in 2016 and Jeh in 2021.
