IIFA 2025 Day 3: Kareena Kapoor Pays Heartfelt Tribute To Raj Kapoor With Mesmerising Performance

The grand finale of the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) 2025 was a night to remember, and Bollywood's Queen of Hearts, Kareena Kapoor Khan made sure of it. Amid all the glam and glory of celebs sporting this year’s ‘Silver is the New Gold’ theme, one performance that truly ruled over our hearts was Kareena’s emotional tribute to her legendary showman of Indian cinema, Raj Kapoor.

The Kapoor family recently celebrated 100 years of the legendary actor and filmmaker, Raj Kapoor, on his birth anniversary. To commemorate the actor's legacy, Kareena Kapoor took to the stage and performed some of the most iconic songs from his films. Her performance was surely one of the much anticipated acts of the night, and she did not disappoint. Bebo mesmerised the audience with her graceful dance moves on Raj Kapoor’s evergreen classics like Mera Joota Hai Japani and Pyar Hua Ikraar Hua from the iconic film, Shree 420.

IIFA’s official Instagram shared glimpses of Kareena Kapoor Khan’s iconic tribute performance, where she dazzled in three different costumes while dancing to Raj Kapoor’s timeless songs. With stunning visuals and nostalgic melodies, every moment was a heartfelt ode to her legendary grandfather, the Showman of Bollywood. One of the posts was captioned as:

Kareena Kapoor’s show-stopping looks at IIFA 2025

Before taking the stage on Day 3, Kareena turned heads as she walked the Green Carpet. The actress looked every bit a style icon dressed in a silver and blue shimmery gown, paired with a statement diamond necklace, bracelets and rings. Her open hair and radiant glow added to her show-stopping look, reminding everyone why she’s still Bollywood’s ultimate diva.

On Day 2, Kareena turned into a red and gold goddess as she arrived draped in a stunning ensemble featuring a pre-draped maroon saree by Tarun Tahiliani paired with a corset top. A green and gold choker, matching earrings, bangles, finger rings and a gold clutch completed her regal look.

For Day 1 of the event, Kareena arrived in style sporting a vintage newspaper print blazer and skirt from John Galliano. 

Kareena Kapoor’s return to the IIFA stage

This year marked IIFA’s silver jubilee, making it extra special for Kareena Kapoor Khan. Not only did she return to the stage after many years, but she also paid a heartfelt tribute to her legendary grandfather, Raj Kapoor, adding a deeply personal touch to the grand celebration. Earlier, Kareena had expressed her joy at returning to perform on the stage of IIFA in a statement that read:

“Celebrating Indian Cinema's Global Triumph in the Heart of Jaipur, I'm excited to be returning to the IIFA stage after many years, and what better time than for their Silver Jubilee Edition. In a sense, IIFA's journey and mine have almost run parallel - we're celebrating 25 years together in the cinema. This performance is especially close to my heart as it pays tribute to my legendary grandfather, Raj Kapoor, whose 100th birth anniversary was recently celebrated across the country with so much love. It's a surreal moment for me to be able to connect these dots and be a part of this celebration of legacy, family, and the enduring power of cinema.”
