India is being praised for the way it is protecting its territories, while Pakistan constantly violates ceasefires and targets civilian locations with its drones and missiles. It all started with the Pahalgam attack, where 26 Indians lost their lives after ter***ist shot them with their guns based on their religious beliefs. After which, India, in response to terrorism, launched Operation Sindoor and destroyed nine terrorist bases in Pakistan.
In response, Pakistan openly shot missiles and drones at civil locations, which were disarmed by our army. India is just on the verge of another war after the famous 1999 Kargil war. And as Indian soldiers are all set and serving the nation, we stumbled upon the 'last letter' of Kargil's hero.
No one likes war, especially the ones who are standing on the border to protect the nation, but they have to fight when it comes to the safety of people. A similar thing happened in the summer of 1999, when Indians were busy watching the cricket World Cup, and our brave soldiers were fighting in the mountains of Kargil to protect their territorial integrity. One of the bravehearts who fought and sacrificed his life was Captain Vijayant Thapar.
In his last letter to his parents, Vijayant told them that he had no regrets, and if given another chance at being a human, he would again join the Indian army and take the pride of wearing the olive green uniform. The Shaheed captain further urged his parents to come and see where the Indian Army fought. He wrote:
"Dearest Papa, Mama and Granny, By the time you get this letter I’ll be observing you all from the sky enjoying the hospitality of the Apsaras. I have no regrets, in fact even, if I become a human again, I’ll join the Army and fight for my Nation. If you can, please come and see where the Indian Army fought for you tomorrow."
The letter is a testament to each Indian soldier's bravery in the war and love for their country. The Shaheed officer even received Vir Chakra for his bravery on the battlefield. However, it was his emotional letter wherein he urged his family to donate all the organs which could be taken. He even told his family to contribute some money to the orphanage. He had written:
"As far as the unit is concerned the new chaps should be told about this sacrifice. I hope my photo will be kept in the ‘A’ Coy Mandir. Whatever organ can be taken should be done. Contribute some money to orphanage and keep on giving Rs 50/ to Ruksana per month and meet Yogi Baba."
Further, Vijayant Thapar told his father to be proud of him. He added that he would be joining his assault party of 12 chaps. It was on June 12, 1999, when Vijayant was leading his platoon to capture a Pakistani post called Barbad Bunker. After the victory at Tololing, his battalion was tasked to capture Three Pimples Knoll in Black Rocks Complex. During the mission, he attained martyrdom. He ended his letter with the message to 'live life king size', and it could be read as:

"Best of luck to Bindia, never forget this sacrifice of men. Papa you should feel proud, Mama so should you meet **** (I loved her). Mamaji forgive me for everything wrong I did. Ok then its time for me to join my clan of dirty dozen, my assault party has 12 chaps Best of Luck to you all, Live life King Size. Yours Robin."
While we all are praying for better times, we stand with our soldiers as they fight for the 'sindoor' of countless women in Operation Sindoor, which is the fight against terrorism.
