Karisma Kapoor's children, Samaira (20) and Kiaan (15), have filed a civil suit in the Delhi High Court against their late father, Sunjay Kapur's current family. They are seeking their rightful share in the Delhi-based industrialist's Rs. 30,000 crore estate. Their father, a businessman, passed away suddenly in June 2025, and since then, the topic of inheritance has been a concerning issue. The Kapur kids made several allegations, including forgery, against Sunjay's wife, Priya Sachdeva (now Priya Kapur) and her two associates, Dinesh Agarwal and Nitin Sharma.
Karisma and Sunjay Kapur's children accused Priya Kapur of forging a will to deprive the siblings of their father's massive Rs. 30,000 assets, as reported by Bar and Bench. The lawsuit alleges that Priya Kapur (Sunjay Kapur's third wife) forged the will to gain full control of his estate, which includes significant holdings in the auto components manufacturer, Sona Comstar. The children further claimed that Priya concealed details regarding the will, so as not to let them know the full extent of their father's estate.
They cited a breach of trust, claiming that after Sunjay's sudden death in the UK in June 2025, Priya began limiting Samaira and Kiaan's access to trust-related documents and financial assets. They claim she presented a will dated March 21, 2025, after initially denying one existed, which sparked suspicion among them. Karisma's kids pleaded with the court to declare them Class I legal heirs and grant them a one-fifth share each of their father's estate. They also sought an injunction to freeze Sunjay's personal assets until the case was resolved.
According to the September 9, 2025, report of Bar and Bench, the defendants in the lawsuit filed by Karisma Kapoor's children include several members of Sunjay Kapur's family. They include Priya Kapur, Sunjay's third wife; Azarius Kapur, the minor son of Sunjay and Priya; Rani Kapur, Sunjay's mother; and Shradha Suri Marwah, the alleged executor of the disputed will.
Besides Shradha and the other close associates of Sunjay, Karisma's children also named two other people, claiming that they assisted their stepmother in the unlawful act. The named associates are Dinesh Agarwal and Nitin Sharma. According to them, these two men were allegedly involved in hiding the will from Karisma and her children for over seven weeks before revealing it at a family meeting on July 30, 2025.

Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur filed for divorce in 2014, which was finalised in 2016. The separation followed years of a tumultuous marriage and became a highly publicised legal battle. Sunjay and Karisma got married in 2003, with their alliance reportedly arranged by Karisma's mother, Babita. The couple had two children, born in 2005 and 2011. After eleven years of marriage, the couple filed for divorce by mutual consent in 2014. However, the divorce proceedings quickly turned bitter, and in November 2015, both parties withdrew their consent.
The battle moved to court, where each made damaging allegations against the other. During the legal proceedings, Karisma accused Sunjay and his mother of domestic violence and physical and mental harassment. Sunjay, in turn, alleged that Karisma had married him for his money and failed in her duties as a wife and mother. After a lengthy and messy court battle, the couple reached an amicable settlement, and the divorce was finalised in 2016.
