Karisma Kapoor Not Taking Claim In Late Ex-Husband, Sunjay's Rs. 30,000 Crore Property

Karisma Kapoor's late ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur, passed away on June 12, 2025. It has been more than a month since the businessman passed away, and there has been news doing the rounds that Karisma Kapoor is also involved in the Rs. 30,000 crore property dispute that is taking place between his family members. According to a report by India.com, Sunjay's mom, Rani, ahead of Sona Comstars' annual general meeting, revealed that she holds the majority of her stake in the Sona Group. Karisma's name also evolved from reportedly claiming her share.

Karisma Kapoor is not claiming any shares related to her late ex-husband, Sunjay Kapoor's, property matters

A report by the Dainik Jagran earlier claimed that Karisma, who was married to Sunjay, wanted shares in his wide estate. There was no official confirmation made by Karisma or her team. Now, sources close to Karisma's family have told ETimes that the actress, who is the former wife of Sunjay, does not have any role in the property-related matters. The online gossip about Karisma being involved is false. The ongoing conversation related to Karisma's interest in real estate has been denied. The insiders close to the family have set the record straight, and a source close to the Kapoors revealed:

"Karisma Kapoor is not involved in any inheritance or property-related matters."

Karisma Kapoor is strictly not involved in Sunjay Kapur's Rs. 30,000 crore property claim

There have been varied reports hinting at the fact that Karisma may be eying Sunjay's property. However, now it seems like the records have been hit straight as the actress is not looking into getting any estate or share part from Sunjay Kapur's property. Her main concern is the well-being of her kids- Samaira and Kiaan. It was in 2003 that Sunjay and Karisma got married, and they separated in 2016 after having a troubled marriage and washing their dirty linen in public.

A source close to Karisma Kapoor reveals her kids are the rightful heirs to Sunjay's property

Sunjay Kapur had a severe cardiac arrest on June 12, 2025 and was the chairman of the USD 3.5 billion Sona Comstar Group. Sunjay's untimely demise had triggered an inheritance-related dispute over his assets that were around Rs. 30,000 crore. There have been varied voices from the family of Sunjay, who alleged that reports related to his assets worth Rs. 30,000 crore have been under scrutiny. The source close to Karisma further revealed that she and Sunjay's kids- Samaira and Kiaan are the rightful heirs to their dad's estate. The source added:

"The children will receive what is due to them. Karisma’s focus remains entirely on them.”

The clarification has come at a time when there has been an internal conflict between Sunjay's mom, Rani Kapur and his third wife, Priya Sachdev. Rani has made a statement in public stating that she has the majority of the shares in the Sona Comstar group and is also legally the heir to the estate. She has accused unnamed people of taking control of the legacy of the family, which has intensified the legal dispute. Sunjay was earlier married to Nandita Mahtani before Karisma came in his life. He had kept a pretty low profile after his separation from the actress.
