Karisma Kapoor has been fighting an inheritance case for her children over their late father, Sunjay Kapur's Rs. 30,000 crore estate. Sunjay passed away in June 2025, in a shocking turn of events. Amidst the legal battle, Karisma Kapoor made her first appearance on the dance reality show, Super Dancer 5.
The episode gave tribute to the '90s Bollywood music and dance, and Karisma came as a celebrity guest. During the episode, Karisma revealed a behind-the-scenes story from the sets of Dil Toh Pagal Hai. She revealed that multiple shots were taken for one scene due to a younger background dancer, who turned out to be Shahid Kapoor. She said:
"Something funny happened during that shoot, we kept doing retakes. Not because of me! It’s a very funny story. Now I wonder, were the mistakes happening because of Shahid or because of Marzi? Do you remember? After every cut, I used to say, ‘Guys, why aren’t you getting the shot right? This is really tough!’ And there was this little young guy standing at the back who kept saying, ‘Sorry’ — and that was Shahid! But now I feel like it was Marzi who was making all the mistakes, and you were blaming him!"
Fellow judge, Marzi, who was also part of the film, laughed and accepted that whenever anything wrong happened, he would put the blame on Shahid Kapoor. The show was filled with a lot of nostalgia and inside story, but in real life, Karisma Kapoor is going through a tough time due to the legal battle.
Recently, her lawyer, senior advocate, Mahesh Jethmalani, talked about the actress' inheritance battle for her kids, who are Class 1 heirs of late Sunjay Kapur's Rs. 30,000 crore properties. The lawyer stated that Karisma doesn't want anything for herself; the entire aim is to secure her kids' future. He said:
"Karisma Kapoor doesn’t want anything for herself. The entire aim of this litigation is to secure her children in the manner in which her late ex-husband wanted them to be secure — which is as per a trust deed that dealt with his assets in India, his corporate assets in India, and by and large, his assets abroad."
Karisma Kapoor's children, Samaira Kapur and Kiaan Kapur, have moved to the Delhi High Court to seek a share in their father's property. They urged to be recognised as Class 1 legal heirs to Kapur's personal assets in the late businessman's Rs. 30,000 crore estate. In the lawsuit, they made shocking revelations against Priya Sachdev. They accused Sunjay Kapur's third wife, Priya Sachdev, of usurping the 'full control' over their father's assets.

They claimed that their step-mother, Priya Sachdev, forged the will after his sudden death in June 2025, in the United Kingdom. The children are being represented by their mother, Karisma Kapoor, in the court. Karisma's children have questioned the will dated March 21, 2025. According to the will, Sunjay's entire personal estate has been left in the name of Priya Kapur.
