Karisma Kapoor's Dig At Pooja Bhatt And Manisha Koirala, 'I Don't Go Around With Different Guys...'

Karisma Kapoor is a name that needs no introduction. She is the one who introduced the oomph factor into Hindi cinema with her dance numbers. One of the highest paid actresses of the 90s, Karisma was considered as a strong contender to Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi. With films like Raja Babu, Hero No. 1, Raja Hindustani, Dil To Pagal Hai, Biwi No. 1, Zubeidaa, and many more, Karisma has proved her versatility as an actress.

Although she was born with a silver spoon to Randhir Kapoor and Babita in the reputed Kapoor family, Karisma never enjoyed the perks of being a Kapoor daughter. After Babita’s separation from Randhir Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor and her sister, Kareena Kapoor, were raised by their mother. Apart from her career, Karisma often hit the headlines for her bold statements.

Karisma Kapoor took a dig at Pooja Bhatt and Manisha Koirala

The actress is known for her no-nonsense attitude and spoke her mind in many past interviews. Once Manisha Koirala and Pooja Bhatt took a dig at Karisma and called her ‘arrogant’. In a throwback interview with Stardust, Karisma gave a befitting reply and said:

“I’m so tired of this. Why can’t these girls keep their mouths shut once and for all? I don’t understand what’s wrong with them. In every interview they give, they have to mention my name in some context or the other. Especially Pooja Bhatt and Manisha Koirala. I really don’t know why. Yes. I’m proud of being a Kapoor and will always be.”

In the same interview, she took a dig at Manisha and Pooja and stated that they spoke ill about her because of jealousy. Revealing how Manish and Pooja doesn’t have a popular surname like her, she said:

“And how should that affect others? I can’t help these poor souls if they don’t have a surname like Kapoor to boast about. And because I’m a Kapoor, I’m frank and outspoken. I’m not a hypocrite. I don’t go around with different guys every day and then claim to be a virgin. Also, these girls gunning for me is their problem, not mine. They don’t know what they’re asking for.”

Pooja Bhatt took a dig at Karisma Kapoor’s parent’s separation

It is said that when the two actresses were on the peak of their acting careers, Pooja spoke about Karisma and Kareena’s parents, Randhir Kapoor and Babita Kapoor’s separation. This was enough to irk Karisma and she called her out for the same. She said that Pooja has no right to speak about her parents. She had continued further saying that once Manisha Koirala had called her a messed-up kid, without any reason, and she had given an upfront answer to her as well.

At the mere age of 17, Karisma Kapoor began her journey into acting, but the actress didn’t get a dreamy debut because she was a Kapoor daughter. The Kapoor family was firm in its belief that girls should not be a part of the movie industry, especially as actresses. However, Karisma broke all the rules set by her family and became the first daughter to make a name for herself, just like the legendary male superstars of her family.

Karisma once revealed that her mother had to sell her jewellery to make ends meet. She made her debut with Prem Qaidi, but after a series of flops, she tasted success and stardom with the movie, Raja Hindustani. And since then, this stunning actress has not looked back.
