The legal battle between Karisma Kapoor's children and their stepmother, Priya Sachdev Kapur, is getting uglier. With every hearing, new details are emerging, and they all directly link to something mysterious around the late industrialist, Sunjay Kapur's will. Now, Karisma Kapoor's ex-mother-in-law, Rani Kapur, supported her and stated that Karisma Kapoor's children did not get Rs. 1900 crores from Sunjay.
In the latest hearing in the Delhi High Court, lawyers representing Rani Kapur accused Priya Kapur of concealing the value of Sunjay's assets. Rani made strong remarks that Sunjay's salary was Rs. 60 crore per year with luxury assets and 6.5 percent stake in Sona Comstar, which is valued at Rs. 650 crore. However, Priya only showed Rs. 1.7 crore in his bank accounts. As per Hindustan Times, the lawyer said:
"Massive concealment. This house (farmhouse in Delhi’s Rajokri area) is built by my late husband. There are more than 50 pieces of artwork there… Sunjay Kapur had no life insurance, no rental income, and mutual funds? His salary was Rs 60 crore, and we are saying that he has only Rs 1.7 crore in his accounts."

Sunjay Kapur's mother also claimed that Karisma's children did not get any money from their late father as claimed in the will. The will said that they received Rs. 1,900 crore worth of shares from the RK Trust, of which Rani is the settlor. The lawyer on her behalf stated:
“It is not for him (Sunjay) to bequeath (from the trust)…so this entire thing to say there’s fairness in the will is wrong….he couldn’t have under law, and he has not given it…The Rs 1,900 cr worth of shares being transferred, it was not for Ms Sachdev (Priya) to give, couldn’t have been and it could not have been for Mr Sunjay to give…I being the settler of the trust, and the sole beneficiary is (in charge of the trust’s control)."

For those who don't know, after Sunjay Kapur's death, within a month, the Kapoor family knocked on the doors of the court to seek justice for Samaira and Kiaan in their father's estate. They alleged that a deliberate digital manipulation of files was involved in the case.

Karisma Kapoor's children, Samaira Kapur and Kiaan Kapur, have moved to the Delhi High Court to seek a share in their father's property. They urged to be recognised as Class 1 legal heirs to Kapur's personal assets in the late businessman's Rs. 30,000 crore estate. In the lawsuit, they made shocking revelations against Priya Sachdev. They accused Sunjay Kapur's third wife, Priya Sachdev, of usurping the 'full control' over their father's assets.

They claimed that their step-mother, Priya Sachdev, forged the will after his sudden death in June 2025, in the United Kingdom. The children are being represented by their mother, Karisma Kapoor, in court. Karisma's children have questioned the will dated March 21, 2025. According to the will, Sunjay's entire personal estate has been left in the name of Priya Kapur.
