Kartik Aaryan Addressed Alleged Feud With Luv Ranjan Over Casting Ranbir Kapoor, 'I Am Possessive..'

Kartik Aaryan is currently busy with the promotions for his upcoming film, Chandu Champion. The actor debuted with Luv Ranjan’s film, Pyaar Ka Punchnama in 2011 and has a successful career. He collaborated with Luv Ranjan, on several other films like Akaash Vani and Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2. However, Luv Ranjan went on to cast Ranbir Kapoor over Kartik Aaryan in his last film, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar. The decision made headlines and it indicated a rift between Kartik and Luv Ranjan. Now, the actor has opened up about these rumours in an interview. 

Kartik Aaryan shared his views on not playing the protagonist in TJMM

Kartik Aaryan and Luv Ranjan have a history of successful collaboration in Bollywood. However, when he went on to cast Ranbir Kapoor for his film, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, rumours of their rift made headlines. Recently, Kartik sat down for an interview with The Lallantop, where he ended such speculations. He was quoted as saying:

"Luv Ranjan informed me about the film. I think he had his reasons to not cast me and it’s not necessary that all directors will make films with the same actor. And I am sure whenever we collaborate again, we will have fun. We are extremely comfortable with each other. I feel we never really had our relationship affected by this. However, I am extremely possessive about my team.”

Kartik Aaryan will always hold Luv Ranjan in a high regard 

Kartik Aaryan has become a well-known actor in Bollywood and has several box-office hits to his name. He has often expressed his gratitude towards the filmmaker at multiple occasions. In a previous interview with News18, the Luka Chuppi actor said that Luv Ranjan launched him and the filmmaker will always have a special place in his heart. He went to add that he is waiting for the director to offer him another film.

Luv Ranjan had stated that Kartik Aaryan was more fun on set than Ranbir Kapoor 

During a promotional interview for Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, Luv Ranjan was asked about the difference in working with Kartik Aaryan and Ranbir Kapoor. The filmmaker revealed that Kartik Aaryan is more fun on the set and Ranbir is more quiet. He said:

“Kartik is a lot more fun on set while Ranbir is more quiet and to himself. On set, if you see Ranbir, he is at ease with himself. He’s usually quiet but he’s totally prepared."

Kartik Aaryan's work front

On the work front, Kartik Aaryan is promoting his upcoming film, Chandu Champion, directed by Kabir Khan. It is set to release in the theatres on June 14, 2024. He is also shooting for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, a sequel to the popular franchise featuring Vidya Balan and Triptii Dimri in lead roles.
