Katrina Kaif Reacts To Being Friends With Alia Bhatt And Animosity With Deepika Padukone, 'I Cry..'

Bollywood actor, Ranbir Kapoor once dated actresses, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone. Fast forward to now, Ranbir is married to actress Alia Bhatt, and they are proud parents to their baby girl, Raha Kapoor. Though Katrina and Deepika have also moved on in their respective lives, they reportedly have animosity and discomfort with each other.

Katrina Kaif talked about being friends with Alia Bhatt

Back in 2019, in an interview with film critic, Rajeev Masand for Elle India, Katrina Kaif was asked how she managed to be friends with her ex, Ranbir Kapoor's then-girlfriend, Alia Bhatt. She was also probed about her cordial equation with Deepika Padukone, who had broken up with Ranbir in 2009. Responding to it, Katrina said that she never holds grudges or resentment even if she feels bad about something. The actress added:

“It comes from realising that these things don’t matter. Me holding on to resentment or a grudge isn’t going to change the situation. It boils down to logic. But I’m human. Yeah, I feel bad, I cry. I feel devastated. And then, I get back up and say, it’s fine. Something’s coming, something’s coming."

Katrina Kaif talked about her uncomfortable equation with Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif once had a very serious catfight, which started when Deepika's ex-boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor, cheated on her with Katrina. Their relationship became so sour that Deepika once mentioned on the 'Koffee' couch that she would never invite Katrina to her wedding. Reacting to their alleged feud, in the same conversation, Katrina said:

"As for the uncomfortable equation I once had with Deepika… I just react to instinct. I don’t feel that animosity or discomfort between us anymore. I felt happy to let that go.”

Before tying the knot with Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone was in a relationship with Ranbir Kapoor. The duo worked together in movies like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Tamasha, and Bachna Ae Haseeno. Ranbir and Deepika dated for about two years before calling it quits in 2009. After parting ways with Deepika, Ranbir fell in love with Katrina Kaif, and the duo painted the town red with their camaraderie. However, they, too, called it quits in 2016.

During her earlier conversation with Karan Johar on his chat show, Koffee With Karan 7, Alia Bhatt talked about maintaining a good rapport with her husband, Ranbir Kapoor’s exes, Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif. During the rapid-fire round, Karan asked Alia what tag would suit her the best, "How to be best friends with your exes" or "How to be friends with your boyfriend's exes". To this, she mentioned:

“I think I know how to stay friends with my partner’s ex. I am very good friends with his exes. I love them both.”
