Kelly Ripa Pays Heartfelt Tribute To Saul Consuelos After Mark Consuelos Confirms His Father's Death

Mark Consuelos has recently lost his father, Saul Consuelos. Mark confirmed, while speaking in an episode of Live with Kelly and Mark on April 6, 2026, that his father had died after battling an illness. Mark’s mother, Camilla, and his late father were an important part of the lives of their grandchildren over the years. The family members also included Mark’s sister, Adriana.

Kelly Ripa shares her reaction to Saul Consuelos’ sudden demise

As mentioned, Saul Consuelos’ death was first revealed in an episode of Live with Kelly and Mark on April 6, 2026. While sharing her reaction, Kelly Ripa told Mark Consuelos that he was blessed since he got to know his father for his whole life. Kelly said that although she had known her father-in-law for only 31 years, they were the best years of her life, and she is always going to miss him. Kelly described her father-in-law as the greatest person she had met.

Kelly Ripa added that she was grateful to her father-in-law for everything that he did for her. Kelly recalled that there were certain days when Mark was not available, and Saul arrived immediately to take care of the kids so that Ripa could go to work. She further stated:

“I keep explaining to my kids how lucky they were to be adults, to have had their [grandparents]. They still have three grandparents, and they took it particularly hard. This is their first loss that they’ve ever experienced in their lives. By the time I was 8, I had no grandparents, and you got to grow up with [them]. You got to have deep meaningful conversations.”

Kelly Ripa said that Saul Consuelos was like a father in her life

In the latest episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Kelly Ripa also praised the other two children of Saul Consuelos, saying that they are extraordinary. Kelly recalled that Saul used to play the role of a father when Mark was out for work. However, this even created confusion among the parents at the school of Kelly and Mark’s children. Kelly addressed the moment by saying:

“There was a long period of time where people thought that my father-in-law was my husband on back-to-school night, because he was always with me. He was very involved with the curriculum of the school and he wanted to know things.”

Kelly Ripa continued by stating that there was another instance where Mark came to a school event instead of Saul. But many people believed that Kelly had possibly tied the knot once again. Ripa said that it was because Mark looked similar to his father, and she clarified that Saul was her father-in-law. Kelly mentioned that this is a situation that is common in New York City.
