Khalid and Salama first met each other in 2006. Their relationship took flight within the same year, and they got engaged by the end of the same year. In June 2007, the two decided to get married and exchanged wedding vows. The couple stood with each other for 17 years. The two are also blessed with two sons. They announced their divorce in February 2024, and are now co-parenting their sons together.

Talking about their separation reason, the exact cause hasn't been revealed yet, but Khalid and Salama described their divorce as a mutual decision. They wanted personal peace and happiness rather than being in an ugly relationship. It is the reason why they are able to still co-parent their children.

The confirmation comes after Khalid announced his engagement, and it seems like Salama must have taken time to process it. When Nour was questioned, "You are now separated, or can I say divorced?" The YouTuber immediately responded, "Divorced." 

Salama further revealed how she has been adjusting to the massive change in her life. The mother of two revealed that it is the first time she is not dependent on anyone. She stated that before her marriage, she was dependent on her family, and after marriage on her husband. But now she is independent and is known as just 'Salama'.

Later, Khalid posted a similar photo, wherein he held a girl's hand. However, it was the gorgeous diamond ring that became the highlight.
