Khushi Kapoor Reveals She Feels Embarrassed About Attending An Event With Braces, Says, 'I Hate...'

Khushi Kapoor has been a part of the industry since the day she was born despite only having done one film so far. The young actress is the daughter of Boney Kapoor, and the late actress, Sridevi. In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the actress recently revealed her first celebrity event.

Khushi Kapoor reveals she felt embarrassed about having braces

Khushi Kapoor has been extremely vocal about her cosmetic procedures and how they impacted her self-esteem when she was bullied as a young girl. When during the conversation, she was asked about her first public appearance, she recalled it as awkward and embarrassing. Growing up in the public eye has never been easy, and when it gets mixed with public scrutiny, it can get tough. However, the actress is now finding her voice in Bollywood and sharing chapters from the depths of her childhood.

Talking to the interviewer, Khushi recalled her parents took her to an award show as her first celebrity event. She shared that it must've been IIFA, and she gave some really embarrassing interviews. Khushi further added that it was the first time her mother, the late actress Sridevi, took her out for an event, and she had braces on at the time. She revealed that it was not a fond memory, and she hated it. Khushi was quoted saying:

"I think maybe an award show with my parents, like IIFA or something like that. Oh, I think I remember—I gave some really embarrassing interviews. Mom took me out for the first time, and I had braces, and it was really embarrassing. She’s not very fond of that memory. Yeah, I hate it."

Khushi Kapoor revealed that she wished she would've stayed home instead

In the same conversation, Khushi Kapoor revealed that while these celebrity events seemed fun to attend at the time, it was the first time her mother, Sridevi, took her and her sister, Janhvi Kapoor, to one. She recalled how excited they both were, but looking back at the clips from the same, she wished that they would've stayed home. Nonetheless, she found them funny to rewatch as she and her sister looked so small. She was quoted saying:

"At the time, it was really fun for us to go to these events. It was one of the first times Mom took both of us out, and it was very, very exciting. But now, when I look back at it, I just wish we had stayed home for all those events. But it’s so funny to watch—we looked so small!"

Khushi Kapoor made her debut in Zoya Akhtar’s OTT film, The Archies, playing the role of 'Betty Cooper'. However, her upcoming project, Loveyapa marks her theatrical debut, and she has been promoting the film with all her josh. For the uninitiated, Loveyapa, set in the world of modern romance, promises a heartwarming story filled with unforgettable performances, vibrant music, and stunning visuals. Along with Khushi Kapoor and Junaid Khan, the film will also be featuring Grusha Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana, Tanvika Parlikar, and Kiku Sharda, among others. The film is set to release on February 7, 2025.
