In the wake of ex-Nickelodeon star Kianna Underwood's tragic death at age 33, new details emerging online are painting a far more complicated and troubling picture of her life in her final years. The actress, best known for appearing on All That, had quietly disappeared from the public eye after her childhood success.
As the industry mourns her demise, we have stumbled upon some old social media posts, eyewitness claims, and other details that suggest Kianna had been struggling severely towards the final years of her life.
Kianna Underwood is best remembered for her work in the tenth and final season of Nickelodeon's All That, which aired in 2005. She had become a popular face of the sketch comedy show, appearing in seven episodes alongside actors like Kenan Thompson and Nick Cannon. The notice, which later resurfaced on an X thread a few years later, stated that Kianna had been missing from home and had last been seen in the Bronx, noting that she was suffering from mental illness. The notice, supposedly shared by a family member, stated:
"If you see her, please discreetly take a picture and/or call her family... Kianna Underwood is missing from home... Suffers from mental illness, last seen Saturday, 5/10/19, on 166th Street and Franklin Ave in the Bronx. If you see her, try to engage her in conversation (i.e., STALL her) until I get there. If not, please take a pic of her and call me immediately."
Soon after, rumours surfaced online suggesting that Underwood had been seen roaming around New York City, engaging in street fights and exhibiting behaviour that could only be described as increasingly erratic. In an old X thread from 2022, several people mentioned seeing the actress roaming around the streets at midnight.
According to people who said they knew her or had encountered her, Underwood was “no longer the same person.” Several claimed her personality had drastically changed. Many users who claimed to be friends with Kianna left comments urging anyone and everyone to help track her down. A user posted on X in 2022:
"Last year in Summer/Fall 2021 there were comments surfacing of people seeing her in New York and rumours speculating that she has turned to street fighting people and is struggling. People that knew her said that she is no longer the same person and the personality switched."
A brief clip from 2021 is now being seen as a heartbreaking final glimpse into Kianna Underwood's life. The grainy street video now spreading across social media captured the actress walking the streets of New York City late at night, when the man behind the camera recognised her and filmed her. Dressed in a teal T-shirt decorated with daisies, tie-dye pyjama shorts, and purple slides, she carried what appeared to be a flimsy black bag. She kept adjusting her unkempt hair as she confirmed that she was “Kianna Underwood from All That on Nickelodeon.”
Viewers have noted the actress's unkempt appearance in the video, especially the fact that she was missing at least one tooth. Many noted that it was a clear warning sign that something was deeply wrong, with some pointing out that she had been abused. The missing-person alert, together with reports of street altercations and the devastating 2021 video, suggest Underwood had been in crisis for years, largely out of public view.
On January 16, 2026, at approximately 6:50 a.m. ET, Kianna Underwood was struck by a vehicle while crossing Watkins Street at Pitkin Avenue in the Brownsville neighbourhood. Police say a grey sedan travelling westbound on Pitkin Avenue hit her and dragged her nearly two blocks. She suffered catastrophic head and torso injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver fled without stopping.
What began as online rumours has now taken on new weight following Kianna's death. As the investigation into her fatal hit-and-run continues, many are left questioning the fate of the once-popular television star, wondering how she ended up so alone in the end.
