Kim Soo-Hyun's 'Knock Off' Co-Star, Jo Bo Ah Breaks Silence On The Shelved Drama: 'I Believe...'

The upcoming K-drama, Knock Off, starring Korean sensations, Kim Soo-Hyun and Jo Bo Ah, has been a topic of discussion, as the makers indefinitely postponed the project. According to the Pinkvilla report, the K-drama was scheduled for release in April 2025. The decision was taken during the ongoing controversy of Kim Soo-Hyun’s alleged relationship with 24-year-old, Kim Sae Ron, who died by suicide, in February 2025. Now, Kim Soo-Hyun’s Knock Off co-star, Jo Bo Ah opened up about the shelved drama.

Jo Bo Ah shared her views on the postponed K drama, Knock Off

Jo Bo Ah recently marked her presence in the Netflix premiere of her new K drama, Dear Hongrang. Addressing the media, the female lead of Knock Off talked about her comment on the shelved drama might be hurtful to some. She also shared that everyone attached to the project gave their best. Jo Bo Ah finally broke her silence after the makers announced the delay. As per reports by Koreaboo, the actress said:

“I know that a lot of you are curious to know, but I really can’t help but approach [talking about Knock Off] with a lot of caution. Just because what I say could unintentionally hurt someone, so I’d rather hold back on commenting. I will say Knock Off is a project where everyone involved poured a lot of energy and affection into, and I believe that effort will be recognised someday and lead to a good outcome.”

Kim Soo-Hyun and Kim Sae Ron’s dating scandal

According to the BBC report, the dating scandal involving Kim Soo-Hyun and Kim Sae Ron, broke on March 10, 2025. For the uninitiated, Kim Sae Ron took her last breath on February 16, 2025. As per Seongdong Police in Seoul and Yonhap News Agency, the young actress died by suicide, when she was just 24 years old. The charges brought up against Kim Soo-Hyun was that he dated the 24-year-old actress, when she was a minor.

A YouTube channel, Garo Sero Institute, also known as Ga Se Yeon, claimed that the duo had dated for six years, when Kim Sae Ron was only 15 years old. The channel also released some photos and videos of the alleged couple, when the 24-year-old Korean actress was a minor. Later, Kim Sae Ron’s family revealed an alleged chat history between the couple from 2016, when Kim Sae Ron was 16 years old. Later, Kim Soo-Hyun broke his silence and admitted to dating the late actress, but only when she was an adult.

For the unversed, as per the BBC report, on March 31, 2025, the Korean actor, Kim Soo-Hyun became emotional at the press conference, while addressing the media. The actor said it is true that the duo had dated each other, but they were in a relationship, when the late actress was an adult. Addressing the media, Kim Soo-Hyun said:

"Many people are suffering because of me. I also feel sorry that the late actress [Kim Sae-ron] isn't able to rest in peace. I never dated her when she was a minor. Except for the fact that both of us were actors, our relationship was just like that of any other ordinary couple."

Kim Soo-Hyun agency forced Kim Sae Ron to repay debt

According to Sports Chosun, Kim Soo-Hyun denied the allegations attached to pressurising the late actress, Kim Sae Ron, to repay 1.1 billion KRW debt. The agency said the amount was reduced to 700 million. The statement was made public after the Garosero Research Institute made a shocking revelation. The YouTube channel released an explosive video on March 10, claiming that Kim Soo-Hyun was forcing the 24-year-old actress to clear her debts.
