Some have even travelled miles to gather outside SRK's iconic abode, Mannat, in hopes of getting a glimpse of the actor. But SRK was unable to keep up his annual ritual of waving to his fans, choosing to celebrate his birthday quietly at his Alibaug residence this year. He has, however, thrilled fans by dropping the much-awaited teaser of his upcoming film, King.
On Shah Rukh Khan's 60th birthday today, he unveiled the title of his upcoming action thriller, King. He also dropped the high-octane, action-packed first-look teaser of the movie, making fans go gaga. The teaser was released through a joint post by director, Siddharth Anand and SRK. The teaser sets the gory tone of the movie right from its opening scene. The lead star is seen in his usual habitat, taking on numerous bad guys alone, in a dark, rainy setting. Amid the intense combat, SRK is heard talking about his innumerable killings, without being aware of who they were or whether they were good or evil. His spine-tingling words were:
"Kitne khoon kiye, yaad nahi. Achhe log the yaa bure, kabhi pucha nahi. Bass unki aankhon mein ehsaas dekha ki ye unki aakhri saas hain. Aur mein uski wajah."

The teaser showcases Shah Rukh Khan in an intense, fierce, and ruthless new avatar, with distinctive silver-blond hair. The salt-and-pepper look has been completed with ear accessories, a slight beard, and a muscular physique, making for a perfect rugged action hero. SRK's appearance seems menacing yet magnetic, giving fans a never-before-seen avatar. The title reveal video features the tagline, "Sau deshon mein badnaam, Duniya ne diya sirf ek hi naam." As SRK delivers the dialogue in the teaser, the screen transitions to reveal the movie's title, 'King', in bold, blood-red letters, foreshadowing the intense chaos and violence that follows.

The 1-minute, 11-second clip (released on his 60th birthday) is filled with slick action sequences, a gripping background score, and robust dialogue. The teaser ends with the warning, "daar nehi, daehshat hu." Shah Rukh Khan's King teaser features brutal fight scenes and slow-motion shots, with the actor shown engaging in combat and even emerging from a federal prison. In an iconic segment of the clip, we see Shah Rukh Khan wielding a King of Hearts playing card as a weapon, and fans feel that it is a symbolic nod to his popular title as the King of Hearts in Bollywood.

Shah Rukh Khan's new silver hair look and Jawan-like action in King make the internet go gaga. Fans hailed him as the king of action and lauded his commitment to his craft. "A new Shah Rukh Khan experience and we can't get enough of it!," said an X-user. Another fan took a dig at those who made noise about SRK's impending retirement. They wrote, "So finally, Shah Rukh's retirement plan is to remind the planet who runs Bollywood." Some also predicted a successful box-office run for the movie, just as SRK's last project, Dunki.
